Teachers are some of the most powerful people in the world. From teaching the core curriculum to building their self esteem, good teachers truly bring out the best in their students. Amongst the most incredible teachers is Jon Bullock, known more commonly, by his beloved students, as simply “Mr. Bullock.” 

What are the best baseball movies of all time? Baseball flicks, or good ones, anyway, have traditionally outdone films made about other sports as a whole. (In numbers, too: according to Wikipedia, there have actually been 180 movies made about baseball.) I think perhaps that baseball lends itself to theatre more so due to the nuances of the game and the often poetic stories it creates.

The love of literature, food, and fellowship is the foundation of the Page & Table supper club that happens every few months at Reed’s GumTree Bookstore in Tupelo, Mississippi. The group is a partnership between Lauren McElwain, founder of the nonprofit Cooking as a First Language, and Lori Jones, manager of Reed’s GumTree Bookstore. Meeting each quarter, the group provides a way to establish a sense of community with other readers and foodies. 

A transformational development in how the School of Media and Communication at The University of Southern Mississippi (USM) trains journalists to bring coverage to under-reported communities in the state and battle disinformation across multiple media platforms will launch in fall 2024 with the establishment of the Roy Howard Community Journalism Center.
