Have a Holly Jolly Christmas in Mississippi!

Thanksgiving has passed, and we are officially in the Christmas season. With Christmas being next week, there are many events occurring throughout the state to celebrate this holiday. Whether you enjoy going out to enjoy the holiday season amongst others or if you prefer spending it alone, there are plenty of activities to participate in that will get you in the Christmas spirit.

    Go to a Christmas Parade

Christmas parades are one of the most popular ways to celebrate Christmas in Mississippi. Most cities and towns have them. Although many parades have already taken place, make sure to stay up to date on when a Christmas parade near you will take place.

    Get Creative

From decorating your home and yard, to hand-crafted creations, Christmas is the perfect time to tap into your creative side. You can also make it into a game where you and loved ones make handmade items to gift each other.

    Christmas Karaoke

Nothing is more fun than getting together for karaoke. Karaoke is a great way to boost the holiday spirit in yourself and those around you. Create a Christmas playlist and get to signing. What is your favorite Christmas carol?

    Watch a Christmas Movie

Christmas movies are great to watch year-round but even better to watch during the most wonderful time of year. Make a list of Christmas movies to watch during the week of Christmas. Fan favorites include: How the Grinch Stole Christmas and American classic, It’s a Wonderful Life.

Share Holiday Cheer with Someone Else

While Christmas is a fun time, it can be tremendously saddening for others who have lost loved ones. If you think of anyone who has lost a loved one, try extending yourself to them. You can invite them to your home for Christmas dinner or drop off a gift. Regardless of what you do, the holiday gift will be greatly appreciated.
