The 13th Annual Historic Cemetery Tour, coordinated by the Jackson County Historical and Genealogical Society, will take place at the Krebs Cemetery in Pascagoula on Thursday, Oct 24, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. As in the past, historical figures from the area will be portrayed by local actors, and the La Pointe-Krebs Museum will be available for viewing.

With the support of the Bacot-McCarty Foundation, Chevron Refinery and the Imperial Palace Casino, among many others, the Center is hosting the “Birds of a Feather” fundraiser to invite current and potential supporters to visit and learn more about new and existing programs. The event will take place along the bayou on Thursday, Oct. 24, from 6 to 9 p.m.

Three sixth graders from Resurrection Catholic Elementary School wanted to do something nice for someone in the community and found a very worthy recipient — baby Brooklyn, a two-year-old child from Gautier who was diagnosed with DIPG, an inoperable brain tumor.

For the past 31 years, Pascagoula Pride has worked to beautify the city of Pascagoula. As part of these efforts, the group recognizes the beautification efforts of community members with monthly and annual awards. Annual awards were given last week out to a number of community locations that have made a commitment to beautifying their property.

Rock U 2 non-competitive dance and acting classes in Ocean Springs are designed to build more than just creative prowess in the artists. The time spent practicing and learning, with a focus on physical and mental safety, also builds confidence and helps with personal growth as these students go into other aspects of their lives.

The campaign helps tourists find interesting things to do, but locals may be also surprised at what fun things they can find to do right in their own backyard.
