As spring settles along the Mississippi Gulf Coast, golfers will soon gather at Whispering Pines Golf Club with more than birdies and bragging rights in mind. This year’s Boys & Girls Clubs of Jackson County Golf Tournament marks a special milestone — 30 years of swinging for a cause, raising critical funds to support programs that help local youth grow, learn and thrive.

The traditional symbol for celebrating a 30th anniversary is the color green—representing purity, wisdom, devotion, and the enduring nature of a long-lasting relationship.

What an appropriate symbol as this year’s Boys and Girls Clubs Golf Tournament is celebrating its 30th year, so, get teed up and take a swing at programs that support youth growth and development and help raise some “green” to keep the organization operating in Jackson County.

This year’s tournament will take place on Saturday, March 28, at Whispering Pines Golf Club in Moss Point and will feature more than 150 golfers swinging their way toward great prizes and community support.

The Boys and Girls Clubs of Jackson County supports four community programs for youth and teens ages five to 18.  These centers are located in Moss Point, Pascagoula, Gautier and Ocean Springs and offer after-school and summer programs. The golf tournament is one of two annual fundraising events that keep these services operating under the local theme of “Great Futures Start Here”.

Sponsorships for the annual tournament are being accepted now along with golf team registration.  This year’s tournament features a variety of prizes to include its hole-in-one grand prize, a 2026 vehicle sponsored by Cannon Toyota, Ford and Nissan. Additionally, there is another hole-in-one cash prize of $10,000 up for grabs that is sponsored by Coastal Development and Construction, LLC.

This year’s event chairman is Doug Adams, and he is encouraging others to help celebrate this milestone and support the organization’s mission of enabling all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.

“Join us in celebrating this milestone at Whispering Pines,” Adams said. “This event has a positive impact on the future of youth and teens through the community’s support.”

A major sponsorship is $500 and up and hole sponsorships are $100 each.  Team registration for four players is $400 with prizes for first place at $400, second place at $200, and third place at $150.  There are also prizes available for the closest to the pin on all par 3 holes and the longest drive.

To sponsor the event or to register team, don’t delay. Space is limited and fills quickly. To learn more about joining or supporting Boys and Girls Clubs of Jackson County, visit www.wearebgcjc.org/golf-tournament/ or call 228-762-3497.
