The Kiwanis Club of Pascagoula installed officers for the 2019-2020 administrative year during the organization’s annual banquet at on Sept. 17, 2019.
Beginning Oct. 1, the following members will serve in leadership roles in the club: Tammy Moore, president; Jamey Foster, vice president; Haidee Sheffield, secretary; and Cliff Weems, treasurer. They will be assisted by a Board of Directors, which includes Allison Cook, Julius Bosco, Michael Fondren, Jen Robertson and Christian Hartley.
Travis Moore, Kiwanis Lamisstenn District 14 Lt. Governor, performed the brief installation ceremony.
In addition to the officers and board, several club members provide leadership for Kiwanis committees and programs: Jennifer Brimm and Linzy Fleming, Service Leadership Program Committee co-chairs; Mike Wixon, Human and Spiritual Values Committee chair; Ellen Freeman, Programs Committee chair; Betty Carter, Fundraising Committee chair; Joyce Bell-Washington, Scholarships Committee chair; and Jamey Foster and Debbie Anglin, Public Relations Committee co-chairs.
Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to improving the world one child and one community at a time. To achieve this goal, the club supports several community service and volunteer projects each year. These include distributing dictionaries to area third-graders each year, providing accelerated reader books to second-graders, recognizing the academic accomplishments of fourth-graders, awarding citizenship certificates to first-graders, sponsoring Key Clubs in three area high schools, sponsoring the Aktion Club for adults with special needs, sponsoring the Circle K club at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, awarding scholarships to graduating high school seniors and funding various local non-profits.
