For the first time, professional mermaids worldwide will meet in Switzerland in May for the inaugural Merlympics. Pine Belt native Emily Shaw will be there representing Mississippi. The competition will test the mermaids’ aerobics and strength underwater. 

The Harrison County Fairgrounds & Equestrian Center hosts the 26thannual Gulf Coast Winter Classic. An entertaining and fun filled equestrian event for the entire family. Everyone is invited to come watch the horse jumping competition for six weeks on the Mississippi Coast.

Global all-domain defense provider HII (NYSE: HII) announced today that its Ingalls Shipbuilding division awarded $100,000 in grants to 24 STEM-related initiatives from schools and educational organizations located in Mississippi and Alabama.

Join The celebration as the Carnival lights is turned on, signaling the start of the Mardi Gras season. The festivities will be from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. This is basically the kickoff to a slew of krewes that will be rolling along the Coast.
