Mississippi shoppers will have the chance to cash in on some great deals next weekend! The 2023 Sales Tax Holiday is taking place, Friday, July 28, beginning at 12:01 a.m. and ending Saturday, July 29, at 12:00 midnight.
This “tax-free day” will apply statewide to all consumer purchases of clothing, footwear, and school supplies (including backpacks) with sales prices less than $100 per item. Note that your total transaction can be more than $100 as long as the individual items are less than $100.

Mississippi’s Sale Tax Holiday is a shopping event that many Mississippians look forward to each year, especially as they prepare their children to go back to school.
Students started going back to school this week in several counties throughout The Magnolia State and will continue to do so over the next few weeks. School supplies and new clothes add up quickly!
