In D’Iberville Monday night, the Warriors broke open a 1-1 tie with a two-run single by Trey Jaquet in the bottom of the sixth stanza to pull out the win.
The Warriors took the lead on a passed ball in the fourth frame to go up 1-0 as Aiden Seymour crossed the plate. But the Hawks responded in the top of the sixth with a run-scoring single by Max Garrett that scored Dylan Petersen to knot things up at 1-1 in the top of the sixth setting the stage for Jaquet’s game-winning heroics in the bottom half of the inning.
D’Ibervile moved to 7-9 overall on the year, as Dennis Krabbe picked up the pitching win in relief of Eli Page. The Warriors will travel to Gulfport Friday night.
The win snapped a brief two-game losing streak for DHS, as the Warriors fell to Smith’s Station (Ala.) Friday night at MGM Park in Battle at the Beach play and dropped a game to Stone on Saturday at home.
Sean Ostheimer went the distance for Hancock, striking out seven and scattering three hits in a gallant effort that resulted in a tough-luck loss.
