Raise your hand if you agree that fall is the best season to decorate for! There are so many ways to tailor your fall decorations to fit your personal style. However, let’s first go over some basic design elements that are usually included in fall decorations.

    Pumpkins

This delicious member of the squash family is one of the key elements of fall decor. Some people like to paint their own pumpkins while others like to buy theirs pre-decorated. Some people also prefer theirs simple, with the classic warm orange color only. You can also purchase real pumpkins or fake ones. However, be advised that the real pumpkin will have to be repurposed (pumpkin pie, anyone?) or disposed of before it rots.

    Perfect Color Scheme

I’ve noticed more people playing around with colors over the last few years, but we all know that there are certain colors we associate with fall. These colors are burnt orange, burgundy, brown, and mustard yellow.

    Leaves

Is it really fall if the leaves haven’t fallen? Leaves are a staple for fall decoration. Stop by your favorite home decor store to see if you can find any leaf garlands or wreaths.

    Decorating Aesthetics

Now that we’ve gone over the main elements for fall decor, let’s go over some styles you can use to get your home fall-ready!

    Classic

This style is going to use every element of fall decor. In particular, you’ll notice that this style uses orange and brown the most, in addition to pumpkins and leaves. Here’s an example of what a classic fall style would look like.

    Boho Chic

Whimsical and a bit untraditional, this style can still pull off the fall look. Using more muted colors and wicker textures along with fringe, this style is a great twist to a usually traditional look.

    Coastal

People on the Mississippi Gulf Coast aren’t the only ones who can use this decorating scheme this fall. This decorating style celebrates the beauty and ambiance of the coast while incorporating some elements of traditional fall decorations. Below is a great example of this.

    Where to Shop

Now, you’ll have to go buy the decor according to the style that suits you best. Here are some places where you can find everything you’re looking for!

    Hobby Lobby

This is probably one of the largest retailers for home decor in Hattiesburg. You can find anything for any style in this huge store. Make sure you come in with a list, as you’ll end up with a buggy full of items you didn’t intend to purchase!

    TJ Maxx

If you’re looking for affordable items that are nice, TJ Maxx is the store for you. This store is packed with items that have been discounted from a much higher price.

    At Home

You’ll feel at home in At Home. From the kind staff, to aisles upon aisles of unique, fun decorations, you are sure to find whatever you are looking for in this place!

    Kirkland’s Home

Kirkland’s Home is a great place to shop for all of your fall decor. You can find many unique statement pieces here.

    Accents

Stop here for the perfect accent to your home fall decor this season. Accents is full of chic pieces that would make great additions to any fall decorating style.

Decorating for the fall is a fun activity and a great way to express your creativity. Whether you’re more or a coastal person, whimsical boho, classic, or something else, fall is a great time to revamp your space with fun pieces that best suit your style!
