The Mississippi Gift Company: From the Heart of The Delta to the Heart of Your Home

The Mississippi Delta is a special place — just ask Tim and Cindy Tyler, the founders and owners of The Mississippi Gift Company in Greenwood.

When the Tylers married in 1993, they opened a small retail store deep in the Mississippi Delta. This store in the heart of their hometown of Greenwood was a dream come true. Borrowing their brother-in-law’s camera in 1995, the couple took some photos and launched their mail-order catalog with only 20 Mississippi products and 10 gift baskets. The response from local Mississippians, displaced Mississippians, and Mississippians at heart was tremendous and led to their first website in 1997.

Fast forward 30 years later, and the Tylers’ storefront continues to thrive, becoming a successful mail-order company that ships Mississippi goods to every state. With the largest collection of Mississippi-made food and dreams, the store now offers over 750 made-in-Mississippi items by more than 150 Mississippi entrepreneurs, artists, and gourmet food companies.

“The Mississippi Gift Company is based in Greenwood, MS. Population 15,000. Our small town is in the heart of the Mississippi Delta, home to The Viking Range, The Alluvian Hotel, unbelievable restaurants, and the Mississippi Delta Blues. What else makes Greenwood special are the fabulous and fun Delta people with a love of family, entertaining, good food, and warm southern hospitality,” Cindy shared.

The company takes pride in working with local artisans to market their goods and has become known as Mississippi’s go-to place for everything Mississippi. Their website serves thousands of loyal customers from every state in the U.S., and their storefront has become a top tourist attraction for those who visit the Mississippi Delta.

The Tylers and their designers continue to travel towns and the backroads of Mississippi to curate the best Mississippi-made food, gifts, and home decor. At The Mississippi Gift Company, a good is more than just a product; it is a treasure to be shared with anyone who loves the Magnolia State.

The Mississippi Gift Company is the first company dedicated exclusively to products made in Mississippi. In fact, it remains the only company dedicated to Mississippi-made items. “Authentic Mississippi roots define who we are,” is a company motto.

The Tylers and their team have proven time and time again that people love to give and receive gifts that are a reflection of who they are. The Mississippi Gift Company allows customers worldwide to fall in love with the Magnolia State and share its greatness through the hidden treasurers and artistry of all things Mississippi.

As the great Eudora Welty once said, “Mississippi: A place where the heart finds a home.” The Mississippi Gift Company enables everyone who loves Mississippi to have a piece of it in their homes, wherever they may be.
