Ocean Springs will once again usher in summer with one of its most popular events of the year – the Red, White, and Blueberry Festival.
Presented by the Ocean Springs Chamber of Commerce and the Main Street Tourism Bureau, the 14th edition of the festival will take place Saturday, June 3 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the historic L & N Depot in downtown Ocean Springs.
“We started the festival as a fun way to celebrate the start of summer,” said Cynthia Sutton, executive director of the Ocean Springs Chamber of Commerce. “In Ocean Springs, our business through the Ocean Springs Chamber and Main Street Tourism Bureau is to generate activity and aid in improving the quality of life for our residents and travelers. So, we thought it would be fun to give away ice cream as a happy. We then partnered with the Ocean Springs Fresh Market, and it has since grown to become a very popular local festival.”
The Red, White, and Blueberry Festival will feature food vendors, live entertainment, children’s activities, and of course the free ice cream – this year coming from Kilwins Ocean Springs. To celebrate the star of the show, there will be plenty of opportunities to sample different blueberry dishes, share your favorite blueberry recipes, and even purchases some blueberry bushes of your own.
“We’d love to invite everyone to come to this wonderful celebration,” Sutton said. “This is a great community event located in downtown Ocean Springs where you’ll be surrounded by nearly 30 vendors and of course more than 150 shops and restaurants in walking distance. I encourage people to bring the whole family out and enjoy a day in beautiful downtown Ocean Springs with a delicious treat of vanilla ice cream and delicious blueberries.”
