    Instant Pot Cooking class offered at the Lucedale Library

    The Lucedale/George County Public Library will offer a free Instant Pot Cooking Class on Tuesday, March 10, beginning at 5 p.m. in the meeting room.

    Learn to cook with an Instant Pot. Don’t be intimidated by pressure cookers. Get tips and information on using this product with confidence. Share recipes that can be made quickly and still taste like they’ve been simmering all day.  All materials will be provided by the Library.

    The library is located at 507 Oak Street across from City Park and the water tower. Call 601-947-2123 for more information.

    Vancleave Library offers DIY Lip Balm class

    The Vancleave Public Library will offer Read My Lips: DIY Lip Balm class on Thursday, March 12, at 5:30 p.m. in the library.

    Adults are invited to this special Do-It-Yourself class. Learn how to make lip balm at home. Be able to take some home for yourself. Registration is required as seating is limited. All supplies are provided by the Friends of the Vancleave Library.

    Call to register and to request specific programming at 826-5857 or sign up at the library circulation desk.

    Gautier Library offers Beginning Keyboarding/Typing Class

    The Gautier Public Library will offer Beginning Keyboarding/Typing Classes for adults starting on Thursday, March 12, at 10 a.m. in the library meeting room.

    If you are an adult and you are not confident in your typing skills, join others at the library for free classes. Learn how to navigate your way on a computer. Learn touch-typing. Improve your existing typing skills. Learn to type what you read from a printed page or computer screen without looking at the keyboard. Be able to create, save, and edit word documents. Take a timed writing test for a job interview. Light refreshments provided by the Library.

    Seating is limited. Register by calling the library for 228-497-4531. The library is located at 2100 Library Lane next to the college campus.

    Crochet class offered at St. Martin Library

    The St. Martin Public Library will host a free Crochet class on Saturday, March 14, from 10 a.m. to noon, in the meeting room.

    Instructor Teresa Busby will offer more advanced classes for the average student. Learn the fundamentals, read patterns, and reduce your stress. Intended for those age fifteen and older.

    Supplies are furnished or you may bring your own. (Supplies needed are yarn and a crochet hook.) Registration is required as seating and supplies are limited – call the library for more information. Seating is limited and sign up is required by calling 392-3250.

    The library is located at 15004 Lemoyne Boulevard next to the community center.

    Moss Point Library offers free Dance lessons for adults

    The Ina Thompson Moss Point Library will host Dance, Dance, Dance ballroom and swing dance lessons on Saturday, March 14, from 10 a.m. until noon.

    Class is scheduled for Saturday, March 21 and 28, as well as April 11, 18, and 25.

    Have a great time while learning ballroom and swing dance styles with Montrelle Ramey, dance instructor for the library. Have fun and get healthy exercise as well. Adults 17 and up are invited to bring friends and join the fun. Sign up at the library or call 475-7462.

    Pascagoula Library to host Saturday Storytime

    The Pascagoula Public Library will host a special Saturday Storytime for preschool children on March 14, at 10 a.m., in the library.

    Children and parents are invited to this special storytime for parents and those caregivers who may work during the week.  Everyone is invited to this fun-filled event.

    Children must be accompanied by parent, grandparent, or adult guardian.

    Moss Point Library offers Coding for Cookies event

    The Ina Thompson Moss Point Library will offer Coding for Cookies for students on Monday, March 16, from 4 to 6 p.m. in the meeting room.

    Students ages eight and up will enjoy Dash robotics, computers, and building. Building and inventing can be a fun and exciting experience.  Be entertained by a variety of STEM programs to exercise problem solving skills through science, technology, engineering, and math. Children are encouraged to bring their curiosity.

    Upon completion, each child will receive a certificate and a cookie. Refreshments provided by Friends of the Moss Point Library. Sign up today by calling 228-475-7462.

    St. Martin Library offers Children’s Bingo 

    Families are invited to attend Children’s Bingo at the St. Martin Public Library on Tuesday, March 17, at 4 p.m., in the meeting room.

    Children of all ages are invited to have fun with others at Bingo. Kids will enjoy bingo and be able to win prizes. Prizes and light refreshments are provided by the Friends of the St. Martin Public Library.

    Pascagoula Library to host St. Patrick’s Day Movie Night

    The Pascagoula Public Library will host a special St. Patrick’s Day Movie Night for families on Tuesday, March 17, at 5:30 p.m., in the library meeting room.

    Kids of all ages are welcome to our St. Patrick’s Day Family Movie Night with Darby O’Gill.  Enjoy Irish-Green snacks provided by the Friends of the Library along with other shenanigans.

    Children must be accompanied by parent, grandparent, or adult guardian.

    The Lucedale/George County Public Library will offer an opportunity for families and kids to join the Lego Club on Tuesday, March 17, starting at 4:30 p.m.

    This family event is intended for ages 12 and under. Legos will be provided to make wonderful Lego creations. Children must be accompanied by parent or adult. Build something to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. Build a different theme each month.

    Get ready for Spring. Learn to make Cleaning Products you can use. Save money and learn how to make your own cleaning supplies out of common products. Join us and get great tips and tricks for cleaning your house and home.

    East Central Library to offer Be Crafty: DIY Chalkboard Pots

    The East Central Public Library will offer Be Crafty: DIY Chalkboard Pots on Thursday, March 19, at 1 p.m., in the meeting room.

    Be crafty with chalkboard terra cotta pots. This free crafting class will be held in three parts.  Part 2 will be on March 26, Decorate Your Pot, and part 3 will be held on April 2, April Showers Bring May Flowers. Let creativity soar as you decorate your pot. Then join us as we plant flowers in your creative pot. All supplies provided by the Friends of the Library.
