Fat Boy’s Pizza Has Arrived in Hattiesburg

If there’s one thing about Fat Boy’s Pizza, it is that they make BIG pizza, and you can now get it in Hattiesburg!

Their large pies are about 30 inches across, which reflects their slogan, “Size Matters.” While their trademark is the large pizza, they do have other delicious menu items such as baked meatballs, garlic knots, salads, wings, beer, and daiquiris. They also have 10-inch gluten-free pizzas, as well as dessert options such as dessert knots.

And if you’re up for a challenge, they do have a Fat Boy’s 2 Foot Challenge. This is where a person can earn a Fat Boy’s t-shirt and a $20 gift card if one can eat a 2-foot slice of pizza in seven minutes or less. Joey Chestnut currently holds the record at 40 seconds!! If someone can beat this, they win $2,500.

The restaurant chain began about three years ago in Metairie, La., and then there were two more locations that opened in Louisiana (the Mandeville location is expected to open this summer). The Hattiesburg location opened this past March in the former location of La Fiesta Brava.

I was able to visit the Hattiesburg location with my family and friends soon after it opened. It was a Sunday at dinner time, and there was a line out the door. However, it didn’t take very long for us to get to the front and order our food. Once you get up there, you get your drinks, sit down, and wait for the food. Again, it didn’t take long to get our food!

The staff was friendly and incredibly helpful, and of course, we loved the food! I was only able to eat one slice, which was definitely enough for me! I would say we had a great experience at the restaurant and for sure will be back!

I am married, and I also have a 4-year-old daughter. I earned my Ph.D. in Experimental Psychology from the University of Southern Mississippi, and I have been teaching psychology classes over the past 10 years. As a professor and as a parent, I grew to love learning anything about child development. I recently turned that into a passion for helping other parents by starting my own blog at http://www.nurturingtamra.com.
