Best Places to Get Coffee on the Coast

What would we be without coffee? There’s nothing like grabbing a friend and a latte on a beautiful day and sitting outside or taking a walk enjoying your drink. Coffee is the first thing I look forward to in the mornings, and when you stop and think about it, coffee’s really a major part of our lives.

There are so many great coffee shops on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, and for that, I am grateful. Here’s my list of the best places to get coffee on the coast, in no particular order.

Coast Roast (Gulfport) & Bankhouse Coffee (Long Beach)

Bankhouse was the original coffee shop in the Coast Roast family, founded in 2000. In 2016, the Gulfport location was opened. Coast Roast coffee prides itself on freshness as the beans are roasted several days a week and the coffee is never more than seven days out of the roast date. They offer nitro on tap along with fresh pastries from Quality Bakery. They have all your coffee shop favorites: frappe, iced coffee, iced chai tea, specialty flavored lattes, café au lait, just to name a few. Grab a bag of freshly roasted coffee in-store to make at home later. Coast Roast coffee can also be ordered online and shipped. Located at 1601 25th Avenue in Gulfport and 126 Jeff Davis Avenue in Long Beach.

    The District (Ocean Springs)

The District offers cold brew, nitro, frappe, latte, cappuccino, pretty much any kind of coffee you would want. Flavors offered include blueberry, butter pecan, caramel, chocolate, coconut, French vanilla, hazelnut, lavender, peanut butter, pumpkin pie, pumpkin spice, peppermint, raspberry, salted caramel, toasted marshmallow, vanilla, white chocolate. You can even add CBD for $2.95. For tea options, they have matcha, chai, green, black, and hibiscus. Milk options include whole, 2%, soy, almond, half & half, oat, and condensed. They are known to create unique flavors like honey lavender latte and caramel pecan macchiato. Sandwiches and pastries are also available. Located at 1301 Government Street in Ocean Springs.

    Jacked Up Coffee Bar (Biloxi)

Jacked Up offers way more than just coffee. They are actually known for their gourmet chicken salad, making it a great lunch spot. The shop also offers alcoholic coffee beverages. Grab a piece of specialty monkey bread for breakfast in the morning along with their signature iced white chocolate mocha. Nola iced coffee is also a popular option, consisting of 24-hour cold brew mixed with organic whole milk and simple syrup (can be made without syrup for a stronger taste). Iced coffee isn’t your thing? They have all the typical lattes, mochas, macchiatos, and regular go to’s. Jacked Up serves French Truck coffee out of New Orleans. French Truck is an ethical coffee that is roasted in small batches and delivered fresh. Located at 999 Howard Avenue in Biloxi.

    Boozer’s Brew & a Café Too (Gulfport)

Boozer’s has a little bit of everything. I recommend getting the everything bagel and the frozen coffee with caramel and chocolate drizzle. The shop also has salads, protein shakes, and hot sandwiches for lunch. Their flavor options include almond, amaretto, butterscotch, caramel, caramel apple butter, chocolate, cinnamon, cinnamon bun, coconut, cupcake, dark chocolate, hazelnut, Irish cream, macadamia nut, maple spice, peanut butter, peppermint, praline, pumpkin pie, spiced brown sugar, toasted marshmallow, toffee nut, vanilla and white chocolate. They offer house coffee, cappuccino, latte, café au lait, chai tea, espresso, and hot chocolate. For iced drinks, they have frozen coffee, latte, coffee, cold brew, Americano, chai, southern tea, and bottled soft drinks. Call ahead and have your order ready and waiting for you. Located at 1921 15th Street in Gulfport.

    Coffee Culture (Bay St. Louis)

This family-owned café is a local favorite. Try the cookie butter frappe, and grab a cinnamon roll while you’re at it. After one of their baristas took a trip to Hawaii, she encouraged the store to serve macadamia milk. All the shops in Hawaii were serving it, so they thought it would be a unique selection to serve for coasties. They also have an outdoor seating area with a screened in back porch for sitting and sipping (and to bring furry friends, too!). Other unique drinks they offer are iced matcha with raspberry cold foam, English toffee breve, french toast latte, iced chai with pumpkin cold foam, and king cake frappe. Coffee Culture is Located at 1113 Hwy. 90 in Bay St Louis.

Delo’s Heavenly House of Coffee (Gautier)

Delo’s has a lot to offer including pastries, sandwiches, breakfast items, and of course, coffee. Scones, bagels, cheesecake, muffins, pies, cookies, quiche, cinnamon rolls and brownies are all available along with specialty drinks. Some of Delo’s specialty drinks include Alice in Wonderland (caramel and white chocolate sauce with hazelnut), Milky Way (caramel and chocolate sauce), French Kiss (caramel and vanilla syrup), Mexi Mocha (chocolate sauce and cinnamon), and Crème Brulee (caramel and white chocolate sauce). For people who aren’t the biggest coffee fans, they offer tea options and fruit smoothies. The store also offer a call ahead service. Located at 3880 Gautier Vancleave Rd #8 in Gautier.

    Blue Dog Bistro (Ocean Springs)

Blue Dog offers Death Wish coffee, advertised as ‘the strongest in the world.” They also have pour over coffee, French press coffee, espresso, macchiato, cappuccino, lattes, mocha, Americano, and Community Coffee by the cup. Loose leaf tea assortments include Earl Grey, English Breakfast, Jasmine Green tea, chamomile flower, hibiscus flower, Darjeeling and lemongrass. Try the cappuccino with oat milk and cookie butter syrup. If you’re hungry, grab an order of avocado toast or praline pecan bacon. Blue Dog has vegan, keto, paleo and gluten-free options. Blue Dog Bistro is located at 1801 Government St Suite A in Ocean Springs.

    Finest Grind (Ocean Springs)

    The Simply Sinful Mocha

Finest Grind offers Italian inspired espresso drinks, fruit smoothies, breakfast, panini sandwiches, and home-made baked goods. Try the Iced Mocha Bianca, Rich espresso and Ghirardelli White Chocolate Sauce poured over cold milk and ice, or the Iced Capisce, in which milk is mixed with caramel and chocolate and combined with the traditional flavors of hand-pulled espresso, served over ice. Specialty drinks include The Big Easy latte that combines flavors of bananas foster and butter pecan, and the Simply Sinful Mocha that has flavors of milk chocolate and peanut butter. Located at 2961 Bienville Blvd Suite 6 in Ocean Springs.
