Fall is here, which means apple cider, football, fall leaves, cooking homemade soup, and of course, pumpkins!! As a family, we have created a tradition of taking our daughter to pumpkin patches, which have been a lot of fun. Thankfully, there are a lot of fun pumpkin patches along the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Be sure, however, to double-check the hours and the websites before going.

    Pumpkin Patches on the Coast

    1. Trinity Pumpkin Patch

Where: 125 Church Ave., Pass Christian, MS

    Website: Trinity in the Pass

    Hours: 10 a.m. until dark

This pumpkin patch started in 1992 with just a 1/4 of a truckload of pumpkins, and over time, it has grown and has become their ministry. This pumpkin patch is beside the beach! And interestingly, their pumpkins are grown and shipped from a Navajo Indian Reservation in New Mexico.

    2. Middleton Farms Pumpkin Patch

Where: 21500 Otis Cooper Road, Moss Point, MS

    Website: Middleton Farms

    Dates and Hours: October 3rd from 1-5 p.m., October 9th from 10 a.m.-4 p.m., October 10th from 1-5 p.m., October 16th from 10 a.m.-4 p.m., October 17th from 1-5 p.m., October 23rd from 10 a.m.-4 p.m., and October 24th from 1-5 p.m.

There are live cow milk demonstrations, hayrides, petting animals, and of course, pumpkins!

    3. Episcopal Church of the Redeemer Pumpkin Patch

Where: 1904 Pops Ferry Road, Biloxi, MS

Website: Episcopal Church of the Redeemer

Hours: Based on their website, it looks like the pumpkin patch will start on October 4th. Hours will be 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Saturday and 12-6 p.m. on Sundays. There will also be a craft show on October 16th.

    4. Southern Promiseland Farm Pumpkin Patch

Where: 1212 Raygan Ln, Kiln, MS

    Website: Southern Promiseland Farm

Dates and Hours: Open Saturdays starting October 2nd, with three special Sunday openings (the 10th, 17th, and 24th from 1-4 p.m.).

They have a 10-acre maze, roping area, cow milking simulation, hayrides, farm animals, and a pumpkin patch. Admission is $8.00 for those 12 and up and $7.00 for those between the ages of 3-11. Kids who are 2 and under get in free with a paying adult.

    5. United Methodist Church Pumpkin Patch

Where: 5305 Noma Drive, Diamondhead, MS

    Website: United Methodist Church

Dates and Hours: The pumpkin patch starts on October 4th and is open Monday-Saturday from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. and then on Sundays 1-7 p.m.

    6. Mitchell Farms Pumpkin Patch

Where: 650 Leaf River Church Road, Collins, MS

    Website: Mitchell Farms

    Dates and Hours: Fridays 12-4 p.m. (only in October), Saturdays 9 a.m.-6 p.m., and Sundays 1-5 p.m.

On weekends, admission is $15 for everyone except kids under two years of age. They have wagon ride tours, a corn maze, tractor slide racer, sunflower field, a corn pool, a goat castle, an animal barn, and many pumpkins!

Have fun at the pumpkin patches!! What are your favorite memories from pumpkin patches? Tell us in the comments below or on Facebook.

I am married, and I also have a 4-year-old daughter. I earned my Ph.D. in Experimental Psychology from the University of Southern Mississippi, and I have been teaching psychology classes over the past 10 years. As a professor and as a parent, I grew to love learning anything about child development. I recently turned that into a passion for helping other parents by starting my own blog at http://www.nurturingtamra.com.
