    All aboard!

Next stop? The Mississippi Coast Model Railroad Museum.

It’s the most wonderful time of year, and at the MCMRM, that means the annual 35 Days of Christmas and Trains event. The museum is home to one of the largest Christmas Light Shows on the MS Gulf Coast!

Beginning the day after Thanksgiving and running through New Year’s Eve, the 35 Days of Christmas and Trains features over two million twinkle lights! The intricate outdoor designs and displays include glowing palm trees, a winter wonderland, and the abominable snowman.

Currently, the museum has more than 88 running model trains, four outdoor riding trains, a two-million-piece Lego display, and so much more! The MCMRM houses one of the largest Lego displays in the Magnolia State.

This holiday event is a must-do for all ages. There’s even a train big enough for both children and adults to ride!

The museum and railroad club draw on Mississippi’s proud and long railroad history. More than 200 years! They are dedicated to “bringing the spirit of the American railroad back to life.”

The MCMRM has countless Christmas light setups, props, and snowy train towns for all to enjoy. Other exciting activities will occur at the museum, such as visits from Santa, caroling, and much more! Be sure to check the museum’s Facebook page for more information.

Are you looking for a magical place to host an event or a birthday party? The Mississippi Coast Railroad Museum offers that too, and what a perfect time of year to do so. Click here for more information.

The 35 Days of Christmas and Trains event is open to the public from 5 to 9 p.m. Admission is free; however, donations are encouraged.
