This summer, we have been fortunate enough to have Stephanie Huynh of Gautier and Zack Eddy of Petal work as interns. As the new academic year is about to start up, we’d like to wish them both luck! Here’s what you need to know about these two students who are bound for success:

Stephanie Huynh, University of South Alabama C’25

Huynh worked as an editorial intern this summer, and it didn’t take long for her to show off her stellar writing skills. This past May, she graduated from Gautier High School. Huynh, the valedictorian of her class, moved to Mobile on Wednesday to embark on her journey as a student at USA, where she plans to study business management while writing for the school newspaper. In her free time, she enjoys graphic design, attempting to replicate various recipes, participating in community service events, reading historical fiction, and rewatching comfort shows. Read some of Huynh’s articles here.

Zack Eddy, University of Southern Mississippi C’22

Eddy, who is going into his final year at USM, worked as a video intern this summer. A super talented videographer, Eddy produced a handful of short videos for Our Mississippi Home while also working behind the scenes of The Inspection, a movie currently being filmed in Jackson. At USM, he has maintained a 4.0 GPA while studying media and entertainment arts. He enjoys using his free time to watch movies, YouTube videos, and hang out with his girlfriend. Watch some of Eddy’s videos here.

Once again, all of us at Our Mississippi Home thoroughly enjoyed having both Huynh and Eddy aboard this summer! If you are interested in applying to be a fall intern with Our Mississippi Home, we currently have three positions open (editorial, video, and social media). Please send a cover letter and résumé to [email protected]. Applications close on September 15.
