Both the Biloxi boys and girls teams as well as The Pascagoula Panthers and the D’Iberville Lady Warriors all clinched regions championships in Class 6A play Friday night.
In Lyman, the Indians and Lady Indians swept the titles in Region 8-6A each with wins over home-standing Harrison Central as the Biloxi boys held off the Red Rebels 72-66 and the Lady Indians beat the HCHS girls 39-29.
The top-seeded Indians completed a clean eight-game sweep of action in the region, including a 6-0 mark in the regular season, with the win in the title tilt to move to 23-3 overall on the season. Vanderbilt football signee and Dandy Dozen basketball selection Duran Parish led Biloxi with 23 points in the win while Dayshawn Mcgee added 15 points to the winning cause and both James Turner 13 and Reggie Connor chipped in 13 points apiece to the winning effort putting four Indians into double digits.
The loss for the fourth-seeded Red Rebels overshadowed a bit an outstanding performance by Aujaylen Barron for Harrison Central as he poured in a game-high 32pts in a losing effort.
Harrison Central will open the Class 6A state playoffs at home on Tuesday while Biloxi has an opening round bye and will open at home as well Friday night.
The Biloxi Lady Indians moved to 22-6 overall with the 10-point win. Senior standout Shaneal Corpuz posted a double-double in the region-clinching win as she tallied a game-high 18 points and pulled down a game-high 12 rebounds as well while sophomore guard Amari Meredith added nine points for the Lady Indians. Anaisha Carriere led HCHS with 10 points and her little sister 8th-grader Jayla Carriere added nine points.
Harrison Central will be at home on Monday to open the state playoffs while Biloxi has a first-round bye and will open at home as well on Friday night.

In the Region 7-6A Tournament at St. Martin High, the D’Iberville Lady Warriors also completed a clean eight-game sweep of action in the region, including a 6-0 mark in the regular season, with the win a 37-27 win in the tourney title tilt Friday night to move to an impressive 23-5 overall on the season.
Nyia Ratliff led a balanced scoring attack for the Lady Warriors in the win with a team-high 14 points while Teeale wells added 13 points to the win.
Tir’ne Pugh led OSHS with 12 points while Carlisha Briscoe added eight points for the Lady Greyhounds.
Ocean Springs will open the state Class 6A playoffs at home Monday while DHS gets a first-round bye and will open at home on Friday.
Pascagoula won the boys’ region 7-6A championship with a 52-42 win over D’Iberville in the title game.
Freshman Blake Nettles paced Pascagoula with a game-high 15 points and Dorian McMillian added 10 points to the winning effort for the Panthers, while Gabe Wells and Jaquon Newsome each scored 14 points apiece to lead D’Iberville.
The Warriors will open the state playoffs at home Tuesday night while PHS gets a first-round bye and will open at home on Friday.
