The Pascagoula Public Library will host the second annual ‘Ghoula-Con on Saturday, Jan. 11, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. in the library meeting room with free admission all day.
After a great first year, the library is gearing up again for a bigger event for all ages. Everyone is invited to come celebrate the heroes and villains of movies, Sci-Fi, fantasy, comics, games, and fandom. Join in role-playing game demos, discussion panels celebrating the best in Cosplay, Gaming, Comics, Manga, Sci-Fi, Larping, art contest, and so much more.
Scheduled to appear are Eric Zala; Raiders of the Lost Ark Fan Film producer, local author Calvin Parker; Closest Encounter Continues; Pascagoula UFO Abduction, Philo Barnhart; Second Generation Disney legend artist, and Audra Thompson; cosplay pro and contest organizer.
New this year will be the Ghoula-Con Art Contest with cash prizes provided by the Friends. There are three ages groups; Adult, Teen and Children with a $2 entry fee. Any original art may be entered that is mounted and self-hanging. Call for more information. Art will be shown through January.
Anyone may enter the ‘Ghoula-Con Cosplay Contest and win cash prizes provided by the Friends of the Library. There are two age groups; Adult and those under 14 years old.
