The city of Pascagoula is moving forward with the Train Depot Courtyard Project after the City Council awarded a construction contract May 20.
The project will add sidewalks, stamped concrete, stormwater infrastructure, public gathering space, green space and 40 parking spaces along Railroad Avenue downtown.
The contract was awarded to JE Talley Construction. Although there is no official construction start date, the project is expected to be completed about four months after work begins.
The city also is continuing work on the East Pascagoula Police Station, which is in Phase 2 of a $3.5 million project funded through Legislative and Community Development Grantfunds.
When complete, the police station will serve as a fueling depot and provide training opportunities.
Residents can visit the city of Pascagoula’s Facebook page or monthly newsletters for updates on both projects.
