    Extra Table FEEDS Launches Inaugural “Good on the Go Tour: The Extra Table FEEDS Awards” in Celebration of 16 Years

    In celebration of its 16th year of feeding food-insecure Mississippians, Extra Table FEEDS is proud to announce the launch of its inaugural Good on the Go Tour: The Extra Table FEEDS Awards, a statewide initiative designed to recognize the individuals, businesses, and communities making an impact in the fight against hunger.

    For the first time in the organization’s history, Extra Table will formally honor those who have helped make its mission possible—partners whose generosity, leadership, and commitment have strengthened communities across Mississippi. “The success of Extra Table has always been driven by people who care deeply and act generously,” said Extra Table FEEDS executive director Martha Allen Price. “These awards give us the opportunity to pause and celebrate the individuals and organizations who are truly moving the needle in our state.”

    Nominations for the awards will be open from June 1 through June 15, and members of the public are encouraged to submit nominations for one or multiple categories. A Selection Committee will convene in late June to review submissions and determine honorees. Award categories include recognition for volunteers, food pantries, business partners, youth leaders, advocates, elected officials, and more—highlighting the many ways Mississippians contribute to fighting food insecurity.

    Following the nomination period, Extra Table will embark on the Good on the Go Tour, a statewide road trip and video series celebrating award recipients and sharing their stories across social media. The highest honor, the Founder’s Award, will be announced on July 30 at Extra Table’s Sweet 16: Meet Me at the Table event in Hattiesburg.

    Extra Table is also inviting community members to participate in the selection process. Those interested in serving on the Awards Selection Committee are encouraged to email [email protected].

    “This initiative is about more than awards,” said Price, “It’s about telling the stories of the people behind the mission and showing just how far good goes in feeding food insecure Mississippians.”
