1) Jerry Rice
There’s no changing my mind. Jerry Rice is the best wide receiver in NFL history. The Mississippi Valley State alumnus is so far ahead in every career statistical category that it would be complete blasphemy to consider any other receiver better. His records for receptions (1,549), receiving yards (22,895), most 1,000-yard receiving seasons (14), total touchdowns (208), and combined net yards (23,546) won’t be broken by another receiver for a long, long time—if ever—and it all started in the 489-person town of Crawford, Mississippi.
Interesting fact: According to his book, Rice garnered his skills by chasing down horses and catching bricks while helping out his father, who was a brick mason.
