    Loco for Tacos in Tupelo

In our family, tacos mean love.

They are also one of the few foods that all sixteen zillion of us can agree to eat and enjoy together as a family. I am not sure why! Maybe it’s because tacos just seem to be a messy, marvelous, and delicious family party waiting to begin at any point in time.

In fact, tacos really and truly orchestrated a marriage between two of our favorite people on earth. (That’s a story for another time!) But, yes, the Lucius family loves tacos.

Most of the time, we enjoy our tacos the best right at home, all gathered around our family table. And all of the kids and grandkids know that my taco bar is a do-it-yourself assembly line – with first come, first self-served. They also know that I will always have their very own favorite ingredient or topping ready and available for each of them at the Lucius Family Taco Bar.

But every now and then, they give me a break and take me out for tacos! And when that world-shaking event occurs, we all have one favorite place to eat – Loco Taco in Tupelo, Mississippi.

Let me tell you! Every single time we enter their doors, these folks deliver just what they advertise: “Crazy good food!” And they deliver it with amazing hospitality!

For those who have never had the opportunity to feast at Loco Taco, the first thing you should know is that this is not your average taco restaurant. The menu offers a variety of truly authentic Mexican foods, but tacos truly take centerstage at this upbeat, colorfully decorated restaurant, owned by Fidel Cubillo.

Everyone in my family knows exactly what I am going to order at Loco Taco, and they are also amazed because I make it a rule to never order the same thing twice wherever I go. But the Not Cho Tacos are my favorites! These three tacos come with grilled chicken or steak and the usual fixings. But it is the perfectly seasoned shell and the spicy sauce that keep me coming back for more.

My husband, on the other hand, is apt to try something new each time we go to Loco Taco. But usually, he picks between their Picante Shrimp Tacos or Sweet Belly Tacos, and he always orders an extra side order of their scrumptious street corn to go with his meal. And amazingly, he somehow manages to eat every bite! (Ok, ok, I confess; I do help him out in this endeavor.)

But our personal favs are just a few of the choices offered by Loco Taco. So now that I’ve made you so hungry that your tummy is growling out loud, go ahead and check out the Loco Taco menu right here at the top of their Facebook page:  https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100075561561830.

Also, let me tell you some exciting news: In addition to their original Coley Road restaurant in the Brooks Grocery Plaza, Loco Taco now has a second location on Main Street in downtown Tupelo. So, there is no excuse! Head on over to Tupelo and check them out. I am sure that your entire family will find something to enjoy at Loco Taco.

But beware! As I said before, tacos are love – and addictive!
