Who doesn’t enjoy a warm mug of coffee? Perhaps, you’re more of a cold coffee person. Regardless of whether you enjoy your coffee hot or cold, coffee is a classic way to start the day. If you’re anything like me, you may need an extra cup or two to get you through the day. No matter how many cups of coffee you need to get through the day, be assured that Hattiesburg has plenty of options available for you.

    What’s So Special About Coffee?

We all know someone who we watched drink coffee daily. For as long as I can remember, my dad fixed a cup of Folgers coffee every morning, adding roughly two teaspoons of sugar per cup, occasionally adding a splash of 2% milk. To this day, he still has his morning cup of coffee before starting the day. Perhaps, you watched your dad, as well. Maybe it was your mother or grandmother. Regardless, coffee is a huge part of our culture in America. Did you know that roughly 74% of Americans drink coffee daily? With that in mind, as you walk through life remember that many of the people you’ve encountered had a cup of coffee that day (and if they haven’t, they’ll have a cup before the day is over with! Not only is coffee energizing for many people, it is also a fun way for friends, family, and colleagues to bond.

    Coffee Not Your Thing?

That’s okay. What if coffee isn’t quite your thing? Well, that’s absolutely fine. The places listed here don’t only serve fresh cups of coffee but an array of flavorful beverages and mouth-watering food. Let’s start with Java Moe’s. If you’ve been to Hattiesburg, you’ve seen this adorable franchise. Recognized by its compact drive-thru, Java Moe’s is a local fan-favorite. Hattiesburg has three Java Moe’s locations. When heading to work in the morning, there’s a high chance that you’ll see a lot of cars wrapped around the building with patrons eagerly awaiting their morning coffee.

Next in the line up is Mulvi’s. Mulvi’s is located on Hardy Street, not too far up the street from the veterinarian office on Hardy. You can recognize this place by the beautiful cursive writing that spells out the business name. Mulvi’s is known for its symbol of the bee. Not only does this cute coffee shop sell delicious caffeinated and non-caffeinated beverages, they sell merchandise such as t-shirts and mugs!

Of course, no coffee list is complete without Starbucks. Boasting an endless variety of coffee, teas, and other beverages, and establishing itself as one of the most well-known coffee shops, Starbucks is always booming with customers rushing in and out for their daily dose of coffee. In a hurry? Order on the app, so they’ll have your order ready for you when you arrive!

T-bones Record Store and Cafe is a local favorite but it doesn’t offer steaks. Contrary to its steak-esque name, this is another coffee shop that booms with business. This unique coffee shop is full of timeless records, clothing, and other knick knacks for your enjoyment!

Last on the list of coffee shops in the Hub City is Grin Coffee. Grin Coffee has revamped and reopened recently. Featuring a colorful and unique interior, you are sure to leave Grin Coffee with a grin on your face from enjoying the quirky decor and a tasty beverage.

    The Final Sip

In a nutshell (or perhaps, a coffee bean), the beauty in coffee is that each cup is as unique as we are. Each cup is equally personalized and fitting for our tastes and moods for that day— for that very moment. One of the best experiences of drinking coffee is that the final sip of the cup is just as delightful as the first. Whether you are with your friends, family, colleagues, or by yourself, remember that coffee isn’t just made for necessity but for savoring the taste and the experience.
