Hockey Is Back as Mississippi Sea Wolves Begin 2023–24 Season

Hockey season is back, and the Mississippi Sea Wolves have started the 2023-24 season on a high note.

While the ice is cold, the action has been red hot with the Sea Wolves (2-0) beginning the new year with back-to-back wins over the Wytheville Blue Ridge Bobcats (0-2) this past weekend. Mississippi’s only professional hockey team will be back on the road this weekend when they take on the Port Huron Prowlers.

With the Sea Wolves on a nearly month-long road trip to start the season, there’s still plenty of time to purchase season tickets for when they return to the Mississippi Coast Coliseum. Derek Ladner, director of gameday operations for the Sea Wolves, explained that the club has used the offseason to make sure the fan experience in Biloxi is one of the best – if not the best – across the entire Federal Prospects Hockey League (FPHL).

“The 2023 season is going to be action-packed,” Ladner said. “In November and the rest of the season, fans can expect plenty of special event games. We make it a point to be a family-focused entertainment, so come out this season. We aim to make games an unforgettable fun time for fans of all ages.”

Ladner highlighted several of the special event games next month, including “Red Out the Den” on Nov. 18, in which fans are encouraged to wear red and get rowdy. On Nov. 22 and Nov. 24 during the Thanksgiving holidays, Military Appreciation Night will be filled with prizes and surprises to celebrate our military personnel.

Also on the sidelines this season will be Hook! The furry fan-favorite has officially been named the sole mascot for the Mississippi Sea Wolves. When he’s not partaking in the on-ice entertainment, fans can find Hook parading around the stadium during every game.
