Summer is over – or at least I think it is. One can never be too sure here in Mississippi, when it comes to the changing of the seasons. But It definitely feels as if Autumn is here to stay, at least until Mr. Winter comes roaring in with his usual bouts of icy disdain.
But until then, it is finally Fall … and Mississippians across the state are celebrating with an annual trip to their favorite pumpkin patch. In fact, there’s nothing more fun during Autumn than pumpkin patch adventures for children of all ages, from 1 to 100.
Now, up here in the northern half of the state, we have several spots to choose from for our pumpkin adventures, but one of our family’s favorites involves an annual trip to Tippah County to visit Pumpkin Patch Farms, located in Blue Mountain, Mississippi.
And let me say right off the bat that their farm’s motto for this 2025 season is quite appropriate, because a family trip to Pumpkin Patch Farms really is the “Best Day Ever!”
But it’s not just families that visit this Blue Mountain farm each year; church groups, civic groups, and school groups make their way back to this pumpkin patch year after year. (NOTE: Large groups should call 662.512.8656 for help in planning the perfect trip.)
That’s probably because this farm offers so much for kids and adults to see and do as they search for the perfect pumpkin over acres and acres, offering one of the largest selections of pumpkins across Mississippi.
They also offer a wide variety of games and activities for visitors to the farm, from wagon rides to monster slides to huge jumping pillows and everything in between. Of course, everyone loves the petting barn and the goats on the roof.
There’s also the Haytona Speedway, a spooky storybook trail, and duck races. And don’t miss out on the corn maze; it is a must-do!
The food at Pumpkin Patch Farms is a treat as well, with kettle corn, caramel apples, and apple cider donuts topping the list of delicious Autumn goodies to try.
Oh, and make sure to take some family pictures at one of several select photo-op spots. (We love to snap them in the same spot each year to see just how much the kids have grown.)
Make sure to check out the dates and times for fun on the farm, because some rides and attractions are only open during the weekend: pumpkinpatchfarms.com.
So, put on some comfy clothes, get ready for some great outdoor fun, and head to Pumpkin Patch Farms soon … for the “Best Day Ever!”
