Regardless of the scorching temperatures in Mississippi, it is never too early to start discussing fall fashion and daydreaming about our future fabulous fall outfits. Each new year brings in new fashion trends and endless styling possibilities. Below are five fashion trends to look out for this fall.

    Vibrant Colors

Apparently, the era of muted neutrals has come to an end. This fall, it is all about bold, vibrant colors. Think eye-catching shades like fire red and neon pink. Start by incorporating a pop of color— like a bright green handbag or a glowing yellow tank top under a neutral colored shirt. If you’re looking to be more bold, try a head to toe, monochromatic look with royal blue or purple. Regardless of how you choose to style it, these eye-catch colors are sure to turn heads wherever you go.

    Splashes of Lace

The lace trend is the epitome of “what goes around comes around.” Lace detailing screams early 2000s fashion, and many fashion editors believe that the pendulum will swing back, full force, with this trend. You can expect to see lace detailing on satin and silk skirts, on sleeves of blouses, and knitted in dress cut outs. Sport a lace camisole with a cardigan for a simpler look, or don a full on lace dress—if you dare.

    Bootcut Jeans

This flattering silhouette is making a grand comeback this fall. Bootcut jeans are not only flattering— they are also a stylish way to transition from the sweltering summer heat in Mississippi to the cooler temperatures. For now, rock your bootcut jeans with open toe sandals and a linen shirt. Once the temperature drops, pair those same jeans with your favorite pair of boots and your favorite sweater.

    Cropped Trench Coats

This popular closet staple has had a makeover. Coming in with less length this fall is the cropped trench coat— a trendy twist to the beloved, classic original. With Mississippi’s slower transition to cold weather, this piece is the perfect article of clothing to own— keeping you warm enough for those chilly mornings and evenings, yet cool enough for the typical humidity in Mississippi.

    Polka Dots

Retro style clothing is making a comeback this fall. Get ready to wear your polka dot skirts, dresses, and blouses. One of the best things about polka dots is that you can really lean into that retro aesthetic, or you can put a modern twist on it. Regardless of how you choose to dress it, the most popular and classic accent to polka dots is a red lipstick.

    Make it Your Own

No matter what your personal style profile is, you can find ways to incorporate these 2025 fall fashion trends into your closet. Thankfully, Mississippi has many small, locally owned clothing stores and boutiques to find these trends. Which look are you most excited about? How do you plan to style these items?
