With a hippity hop, it seems that Spring has hopped up on us all of a sudden, bringing the Easter holiday along with all the beautiful flowers and trees blooming all over the state. It’s time for the Main Hare himself, the Easter Bunny, to highlight the season and bring lots of Easter joy to good little boys and girls and those young at heart. Here are just a few of the events scheduled around the state.

At the Kroc Center in Biloxi on April 1, 2023, at 7:30 a.m., there is a special treat for the kids—the Easter Eggstravaganza. You can enjoy Breakfast with the Easter Bunny at 8:30 a.m., at the Fellowship Hall. For $5 a person, you can enjoy breakfast from Waffle House and get your picture taken with the Easter Bunny himself. There will be a free Outdoor Egghunt at 9:45 a.m., at the Kroc football field. For the more adventurous hunters, you can join the Aqua Egghunt. Ages 3 to 6 will be held at 10:15 a.m., and ages 7 to 12 will get a chance to hit the water at 11:00 a.m. Swimming is from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Prices are $5 for members and $10 for guests. This will be a great time to make some exciting memories with the family.

Join MWR Gulfport for some egg-citing fun with Breakfast with the Bunny and Egg Hunt will be Saturday, April 1, 2023. The Breakfast is $5 per person and is at the Galley from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m., and there will be free photos with the Easter Bunny. Registration is required by March 30. The first Egg Hunt begins at 9:30 a.m. at Ladd Circle and is free for all hands. There will be rolling times for each additional hunt.

The Easter Extravaganza is set for April 1, 2023, at 3:00 p.m., at 14154 Rippy Road in Gulfport. This egg-stra fun event is sponsored by Maw Maw Made It and Beautiful Creatives. There will be great food served, bounce houses, lots of games, and pictures with the Easter Bunny. There will be Easter basket giveaways, and the egg hunt will be lots of fun as the eggs will be filled with goodies and some special ones with cash. It will be a great time for the whole family.

On April 6, 2023, the Lynn Meadows Discovery Center will be holding its Members Only Easter Egg Hunt beginning at 5:30 p.m. and lasting until 7 p.m. Check-in begins at 5:00 p.m., and the hunt starts at 5:30 p.m. The event is free for all active members. Come and find all the “surprise” eggs that the Easter Bunny has left on the grounds. There will be prizes and candy and opportunities to take pictures with the Easter Bunny.

If you’re in the Hattiesburg area, make plans to visit Hattiesburg Zoo’s Eggz-otic Egg Hunt set for April 8, 2023, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This will be a unique adventure for all as this isn’t your average egg hunt. This hunt is for adults and kids who love a good challenge. No basket is needed for this hunt. At least 250 eggs will be hidden in some pretty clever and difficult-to-find locations along the bunny trail. All eggs will include prizes, and there is a maximum of 2 eggs per family. Admission is $10 for adults and $8 for ages 2-12. Children under 2 are free. And make sure you keep an eye out for the Easter Bunny. He’ll be hopping through the Zoo to visit with guests.

Grace Temple in Hattiesburg will be hosting a free Easter Jam on Saturday, April 8, 2023, starting at 10:00 a.m. Join in on the fun for the morning Easter Egg hunt, Easter lesson, worship, games, and lots of fun for the whole family. Guests are invited to bring their picnic baskets and folding chairs to have a day filled with family fun.

Enjoy Easter at the Ag Museum at the Mississippi Agriculture and Forestry Museum in Jackson on April 8, 2023, starting at 10 a.m. There will be lots of family fun for children ages 2-17 as they follow the bunny tracks along the Ag Museum’s bunny trail and collect lots of candy and toy-filled eggs to fill your baskets. Explore the small-town experience at the museum, visit the children’s barnyard, play some games, dye some eggs, and take a selfie with the Easter Bunny himself. There will be complimentary hotdogs provided by the MS Beef Council.

For those in the Capital City, come enjoy the 2023 Easter Egg Hunt Co-Sponsored by WjMI/WkXi radio stations on April 8, 2023. Beginning at noon and lasting until 2:00 p.m., all the fun will take place at the VA Legion Softball Complex. The event is free for children ages 2-10. There will be great food vendors and live entertainment. Don’t forget your basket to collect lots of eggs, candy, goodies, and prizes. All prizes and golden eggs are donated by Alpha Media WJMI/WKXI.

These are just a few of the egg-citing Easter Egg Hunts around the state. If you know of any others, please comment and let us know. Hope everyone has a Hopping good time.
