DBM in Oxford: A Holiday Decorator’s Dream

    Christmas on steroids!

That’s a pretty good description of the spectacular holiday displays at Discount Building Materials (DBM) in Oxford, Mississippi.

Don’t let the name fool you though! It’s not just a building supply store; it’s a winter wonderland of Christmas decorations and gifts.

Just walk in the door, pause, and take a breath. What a sight to behold, especially for anyone who loves decorating and celebrating during this time of year. Just the decorated display trees alone are enough to put Ebenezer Scrooge in the Christmas spirit.

And yes, the term “trees” is a really, really plural word at DBM. A first-time guest quickly loses count of the themed trees in this gigantic warehouse of holly jolliness. There’s truly something for everyone and every room of the house.

They have an elegant snowy white tree, a shimmering metallic tree, a whimsical, colorful tree, a woodsy hunter-inspired tree, and countless other trees fully decked out and on display. Each themed display offers shoppers ideas and all the supplies needed to make that decoration dream a reality.

Plus, the color choices for tree trimmings are unreal – red, green, white, blue, and every shade in between. And the selections of ornaments, stockings, greenery, and ribbons are seemingly unending. Plus, staff stand ready to make garlands, arrangements, and beautiful bows of any size and shape.

Make sure to check out the wide array of items needed to create the perfect tablescape for the holidays. The colorful selection of stemware alone is impressive, not to mention plates, cups, and serving pieces to fit every theme and budget. In fact, for those who seek an easier setup and cleanup, there’s even a wide variety of paper and plastic dinnerware.

For one-stop shopping, DBM offers an unprecedented selection of gifts for every kid and adult on the ubiquitous shopping list. Artwork, glassware, linens, pieces of furniture, candles, and even a few toys line the endless aisles of this North Mississippi Christmas shop. And for the man on the list, simply take a detour to the actual building material side of the warehouse and find him gifts galore.

Speaking of the man of the house, go ahead and bring him and the kids to DBM and park them in the man cave in the back of the store. They can enjoy complimentary drinks and snacks available at an old-fashioned soda shop counter. They can also chill out on the barstools while watching the sports channel or play the free, retro arcade game while they wait. It’s a win-win situation for everyone involved!

So, go ahead and make plans to take a Christmas shopping trip to Discount Building Materials soon. But pencil in at least a couple of hours (or more) for this retail adventure. It will definitely be time well spent during this holiday season.

    Merry Christmas and happy shopping!
