Cruisin’ The Coast: A Bucket-List Item for All Mississippians

Cruisin’ the Coast … just the title of this iconic Mississippi car show sounds exciting. But the name does not do the actual experience justice. Honestly, it should be a bucket-list event for all Mississippians.

For those who have never attended, a few facts are in order.

Each year, during the first week of October, thousands of people from around the country bring their classic cars to display for others to enjoy. The range of cars on display is mind-boggling. Vehicles of every make, model, and year can be seen, up close and personal.

And “personal” is a byword of Cruisin’ the Coast because the car owners who come each year love visiting with the people who come to see their cars. It truly is a community of car lovers, all gathered in one of the most beautiful spots in Mississippi — in the nation, really.

It’s also known as America’s Largest Block Party, with good reason, since nearly ten thousand cars have already registered for this year’s cruise.

So be prepared to sit and visit a spell under some of the dozens of canopy tents along the Highway 90 Cruisin’ trail from Pass Christian to Ocean Springs. And be prepared to meet some new friends and learn a lot about cars — and life. It’s like Sunday afternoon on Granny’s front porch. Everyone is welcome!

But unlike visiting Granny, everyone will also get to see their dream. It’s a huge event. Imagine thousands of cars displayed along miles of the Mississippi Gulf Coast. It is a treat for the eye to behold: stunning man-made creations displayed along God’s gorgeous coastal creation. Beauties sitting on beauty!

Yes, Cruisin’ the Coast is a must see and a must do. But beware! It’s also an addictive experience. Just ask some of the car lovers that have been coming to participate for the past 27 years. It’s definitely a repeat adventure, one of those things people pencil in on the calendar, year after year.

So, load up the car and head to the Mississippi Gulf Coast this weekend for Cruisin the Coast. From fender to fender, it will be great fun for the whole family.

Go to the official Cruisin’ the Coast website for more details: www.cruisinthecoast.com.
