Over the past few days, residents of Mississippi have received some very subtle hints that Autumn might possibly be on the way.
I know! I know! It’s ninety-something degrees outside right now, and the thought of spending more than 10 to 15 minutes at a time in this humid August heat is excruciating.
Still, I have seen some signs of Fall, and if you look closely, you may see them as well. The leaves are beginning to change colors just a little bit, the mornings are noticeably cooler, and the nights, well … never mind … they’re still pretty hot and humid.
But those crisp Autumn days of golden, russet leaves falling all around us are closer than you think — or feel. Before you know it, we will be complaining about the cold temps instead of these final blistering, boiling days of summer.
For now, though, the thought of cooler days is hard to imagine. So, in anticipation of those lovely moments of Fall, the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks (MDWFP) is offering us a small slice of hope in the form of a $10 nightly discount on all RV and camping sites at Mississippi’s beautiful State Parks.
This MDWFP booking discount runs from now until October for visits planned from November through January, with no minimum night stay required. Plus, the offer is valid for booking park stays on all days of the week and holidays.
According to the official MDWFP advertisement, “This statewide promotion applies to all camping options including Gulf View sites at Buccaneer State Park, Nightly campsites, Primitive Camping, and Premium Camping.”
Also, a new promo code will be provided by MDWFP each month, to use for travel dates in the future. But these codes are only useable and valid during the designated booking months.
Right now, the August code (NOVSTAY10) allows users to book a State Park site for stays in the month of November only. And of course, this particular code will expire August 31, 2025. But be on the lookout for new codes that will be coming to the official MDWFP website in September and October.
