Come One, Come All, to the Pine Belt Fair!

Autumn is just around the corner, and that can only mean one thing–time to get ready for some fall festival fun. As the temperature drops just a bit, everyone looks forward to fall festivities!

The Pine Belt Fair rolls into the Forrest County Multipurpose Center September 2 – 11, bringing plenty of fun, great food, lots of attractions, and rides for the whole family. This is one event that you do not want to miss.

This will be the third year of the fair coming to Hattiesburg, and it has a very interesting history of how the fair came about. “This fair was started because of a lack of outdoor community based events at this time of year in the area,” Ben Pugh said. “The facility and city had wanted a fair for some time.”

And that’s exactly what they got with lots of exciting attractions and shows, delicious fair food favorites, stellar carnival rides, and several rides for the little ones. It’s a great family friendly event to help kick off the fall season.

There’s many attractions that you do not want to miss. Make sure you get to see the MajesticThrill Show. Don’t miss out on the Globe of Death. Exciting Stunt Shows, featuring dirt bike racing and more, will have you on the edge of your seat. The Aerial Acts will take your breath away with their death defying skills and acrobatic moves. The Comedy Hypnotist Show is a hit so make plans to be there.

All your favorite fair rides will be there. Whether you like the thrill and excitement of adventure rides or the rides that aren’t too thrill-filled, then you’ll definitely find something you’ll enjoy riding. There are plenty of rides for the kids and they can even get up-close and personal to some farm friends or exotic animals, and they’ll love feeding and petting these adorable animals. You can also try your skills at plenty of fun fair games. There will be plenty for the whole family to enjoy.

“It is important to have a wide range of activities for everyone to enjoy at the fair,” Ben Pugh said. “Guests can expect a great time with rides, fair food, games, a petting zoo, thrill shows, and comedy shows.”

Pugh loves every aspect of the fair, but he admits there might be one thing that he enjoys most of all. “My favorite part of the fair is seeing the smiles on the kids’ faces whey they walk in the gates,” Pugh said. “It’s one of the biggest reasons we do this work.”

For Pugh, there are quite a few reasons that the fair is so dear to his heart. It brings back many great memories for him. “My favorite fair memories are as a kid going to the Greater Baton Rouge State Fair,” Pugh said. “Specifically, I loved playing the games and trying to win the biggest prizes.”

There is also a bit of irony in the fair that Pugh enjoys. “It’s funny that we have the same people that put that fair on bringing rides, games, and food to the Pine Belt Fair now.”

So come on out and don’t miss the great food, fun, attractions, and rides at the Pine Belt Fair, opening on September 2 and ending September 11. There will be lots of great fun for everyone in the family.
