March has rolled in and already made itself at home, bringing lots of fun, excitement, and plenty of shenanigans just in time for St. Patrick’s Day. If you’re feeling the withdrawals from Mardi Gras, you’re in luck because this weekend, the leprechauns and St. Patrick himself are bringing plenty of mischief and mayhem to the Gulf Coast. As always, we are your guide to all the activities happening on the Mississippi Gulf Coast this weekend.
Biloxi
The city will be immersed in a sea of green for this premier Irish celebration. The fun starts at 9 a.m., with the St. Patrick’s Day 1 Mile Race followed by the St. Patrick’s Day 5K Race at 9:30 a.m. But the Irish malarky and shenanigans will last all day long.
Enjoy the second edition of Hibernia’s Irish Malarkey in this family-friendly event, beginning at 9 a.m. Irish music will fill the air, and you’ll be treated to some of the finest Irish dancers in the state. If you feel like doing a little Irish jig along with them, go for it! There will be plenty of activities and games for the kids. The Skal Axe Throwing will be on hand for even more fun.
Then get ready for the St. Patrick’s Day Parade hosted by the City of Biloxi and the Hibernia Irish Society as it rolls through Downtown Biloxi! Make sure you’re decked out in your finest Irish attire and plenty of green as you’ll be greeted by St. Patrick, the 2024 Grand Marshal Alwyn Luckey and Colleen Carrie Duncan, and the rest of the fun krewes rolling through Biloxi.
After the parade, don’t miss out on the Grillin’ on the Green on the Biloxi Town Green. This is a Southeast Tourism Society “Top Twenty Event in the Southeast.” There will be plenty of live music, arts and crafts, food, and vendors.
Gulfport
The city of Gulfport has a weekend full of St. Patrick’s Day fun. From March 16-17, the Mississippi Aquarium will host the St. Patrick’s Day Festival. It will be an Irish celebration like no other. Enjoy the talented Celtic Dancers, the super fun green sea foam party for the kiddos, and lots of great fun and activities. Grab a green beer! But don’t be surprised if you see some Diving Leprechauns at the Aquatic Wonders. Take part in all the shenanigans during the St. Patrick’s Day Pub Crawl from 1- 8 p.m.
Pass Christian
Join in celebrating the Irish heritage in Pass Christian. On Saturday, the official Blessing and Proclamation at the Pavilion will be held at 11:30 a.m. The St. Patrick’s Day Parade will roll through town, beginning at 1 p.m. The 2024 Royalty of the parade are Grand Marshall David Orozco and Colleen Ema Cait Freeman. Join the Krewe of Blarney for this very fun event and stick around for the block party to follow at Bacchus on the Beach.
Pascagoula
Get ready for a whole day of Irish fun and shenanigans in Pascagoula. There will be a Shop Crawl all day until 4 p.m. Dr. Zarr’s Amazing Funk Monster will bring the jams with live music from 4-7 p.m. The Night Parade begins at 7:30, and the streets will be aglow with lighted floats, throws, maybe a cabbage or two, and lots of good times. There will be a Bar Crawl all day.
Waveland
Get your green in gear for some fun in Waveland as the WCA’s 60th annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade rolls through the city on March 16, beginning at 1 p.m. There will be fun floats, marching groups, golf carts, jeeps, and plenty of fun and excitement for all!
Just a few rules to remember to have a shamrockin’ good time. Go green this weekend. Wear your zaniest, craziest, or if you want to glam, that’s okay too, green attire! Dress like a leprechaun or an Irish lass. Or just don your favorite St. Patrick’s Day t-shirt! The Irish accent is optional. The main rule is to have fun—and lots of it! Have a great time, shake your shamrocks, and enjoy all the St. Patrick’s Day shenanigans!
