    Fall is a wonderful time for a little getaway or staycation, contingent on where you are, and there’s no place better to slow the world down a bit and rest and relax than on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

    If you’d like to experience something new and interesting, you really should check out some of the very unique and interesting bed and breakfasts on the coast. These are a few suggestions from Anna Roy of Coastal Mississippi.

    Grand Magnolia Suites

    Located on Magnolia Street in Pascagoula, the Grand Magnolia Suites was built in the 1890s. There are seven elegant suites to choose from and each is filled with that “old world charm” but also has modern amenities. Located in historic downtown and nestled amid the charming century-old oaks and Magnolia trees that have seen plenty of history through the years, the full-service bed and breakfast is a gorgeous place to enjoy a beverage in the beauty of the Magnolia State. This location includes 3.5 acres of beautifully landscaped property, as well as multiple gorgeous wrap-around porches. It’s rumored that the open courtyard or the elegant porch are the best places to take in a Mississippi sunset.

    The Guest House at Gulfport Landing

    The luxurious bed and breakfast that is The Guest House at Gulfport Landing was built in 1906 and restored in 2014 and offers the charm of the turn-of-the-century home with the pamper and relaxation that everyone seeks on a little getaway. The five opulent suites contain their own private baths with gorgeous clawfoot tubs, fireplaces, antique furnishings, and handmade soap. The house is located conveniently within walking distance of great shopping and sandy beaches.

    Bay Town Inn

    The Bay Town Inn is located across the street from the Bay St. Louis Marina and the gorgeous beaches of Bay St. Louis. The inn is home to 10 fabulous suites with living and kitchen areas, a full bath, and a separate bedroom with a king bed. The Lighthouse Room has a queen bed and sofa bed and a private deck to enjoy the views of the Bay and the Courtyard. In Old World Manner, breakfast is delivered to your door on weekend mornings.

    The Inn at Ocean Springs

    The Inn at Ocean Springs is a fantastic bed and breakfast nestled among the beautiful flora and fauna of the area. The Inn contains two luxurious suites that are close enough to walk and enjoy all the sights of the charming town, including shops, restaurants, museums, and the beach. You’ll love the view and peaceful charm of the southern-style porch and private back patio where you can enjoy complimentary coffee and waffles from the onsite coffee shop.

    The Bird House

    Located in the peaceful serenity of downtown Ocean Springs, the Bird House, which has room to sleep eight, possesses a very unique and interesting style with fun beds shaped like boats. The home is located within walking distance for you to enjoy some historic shopping or dining in the downtown district. It’s the perfect location to get away from the world for a while and enjoy bird watching, fishing, cruising, and bicycling.

    Beachview Vacation Cottages

    These charming Beachview Vacation Cottages are located on Paradise Avenue in Gulfport. There are 13 fully furnished one, two, and three-bedroom cozy, quaint cottages. They include a complete kitchen and are close enough to enjoy lots of entertainment, including restaurants, shopping, golf, fishing. Plus, the Crescent City of New Orleans is only a 70-minute car ride to the west.

    La Petite Cachette Guest Quarters

    Listed on The National Register of Historic Places, La Petite Cachette Guest Quarters has one bedroom and one bath and is only two blocks from the beach and the Depot District of Bay St. Louis. With a private pool, all the amenities of home, and the gorgeous location, this is a fabulous place for a weekend or weekday getaway. A big part of the charm of the home is the cozy treehouse atmosphere it exudes and is the perfect place for your next adventure.

    Gil’s Fish Camp

    These two cabins in Ocean Springs for rent are the perfect place to stay for those that are serious about their fishing. They are located on the historic Fort Bayou and close to the water to enjoy some great fishing and beautiful nature.
