The Bacot-McCarty Foundation has announced it is awarding over $40,000 in scholarships and gifts to deserving local students across the region. The Foundation will also gift 20 Chromebooks to the Adult Learning Center in Pascagoula through their 2nd Chance Mississippi Fund.

Funds will be dispersed from the Robbie Maxwell Scholarship Fund, the Trenchard Scholarship Fund, the Billy Crawford Scholarship Fund, the Thomas LeTard Scholarship Fund, and the 2nd Chance Mississippi Fund.

Recipients of these scholarships are seniors from Resurrection Catholic High School, St. Patrick Catholic High School, and Pascagoula High School, as well as students from Ocean Springs, Gautier, Moss Point and across the county, students enrolled in the Adult Learning Center, and numerous continuing education students.

Bettina Boland, Resurrection High School Senior Class President, was awarded the Robbie Maxwell Scholarship in the amount of $2,500. This scholarship is the Pascagoula Rotary Club’s largest award.

The other recipients will each receive $1,000, however, they will not be identified until the Foundation officially announces the winners in July.

To give an award or scholarship through the Bacot-McCarty Foundation, please contact Executive Director Todd Trenchard at www.bacotmccarty.org or call 228-217-5791.

“We believe that education is the key to the future of our community. During these trying times, we felt it important that the Bacot-McCarty Foundation step up to support the continuing education of our leaders of tomorrow,” said Todd Trenchard.
