The Voice returns for its 21st season this week, and a handful of Mississippians will be vying for the title.
Hailey Green, a sophomore at St. Martin High School, will be making her second appearance on the show after competing during Season 19. Compared to the likes of Janis Joplin, many fans felt as if Green should have received at least one chair turn last time around.
Will this season be different for the singer-songwriter? We’ll see come Tuesday night when she hits the stage in the second episode of the two-day premiere. Here’s a video of Green singing The Allman Brothers Band’s “Soulshine” during the 2020 auditions.
Dina Holland, principal at St. Martin, went to Facebook to wish Green luck.
“She is oh so talented,” Holland wrote. “Hailey, regardless of how it turns out, we are so incredibly proud of you for the diligence in which you are chasing your dreams. I can’t wait to follow your journey.”
The audition of KCK3 Music, a group of three sisters out of Brandon, is expected to air on Monday’s episode. The trio recently performed on Nickelodeon’s America’s Most Musical Family and come from a long line of vocalists. According to their Instagram, in 2019, they became the third generation of Kellers to perform at BayFest in Bay Springs, Mississippi.
