Mississippi is a diverse state full of a wide variety of activities. If you’re looking for a date night idea, look no further! There’s something for everyone in the Magnolia State!

    Jackson

The Mississippi Museum of Art in Jackson hosts an “After Hours” event at 5:30 pm on the third Thursday of each month. The monthly event features one-night pop-up exhibitions and unique dining experiences, often accompanied by live music, outdoor movies, games, and so much more.

     Hattiesburg

If you’re looking for a bit of adventure, then the High Ropes Adventure Course is a great option. The four-story ropes course is located within the Hattiesburg Zoo and is designed for people of all ages. Another option is to check out Mohawk Steel and Glass Company for a fun and unique date night. Here, you can learn the art of glassblowing and create something to bring home with you!

    Laurel

Thanks to local Mississippians Ben and Erin Napier, Laurel is a tourist attraction for all those who visit the Hospitality State! Park downtown, take a photo with the famous blue truck, and visit the Laurel Mercantile Company and Scotsman Company. You might even recognize a few of the homes from the popular HGTV show, Hometown. End the date with a local sweet treat and a drive through Laurel’s beautiful historic district.

    Gulfport

Turn an ordinary dinner into an extraordinary experience with a dinner cruise. North Star Sailing Charters offers private cruises with dinner provided by the Half Shell Oyster House. Are you looking for a simple dinner with a view? The beautiful views of the Gulf are free after all! Pack a picnic or grab some local takeout and head down to the beach.

    Tupelo

Downtown Tupelo is known for its beautiful downtown, local eateries, and of course, Elvis! Rent one of their many aqua-colored bikes that are readily available and cruise the historic streets with your date. On your bike ride, be sure to stop and check out all of the fabulous local art painted on buildings and in alleyways. And don’t forget to take a photo with Elvis at Fairpark.

    Natchez

Take a carriage tour of Natchez, one of the oldest cities in Mississippi. Full of charm, this tour takes about an hour and will take you through the city’s historic district while a guide provides information on some of the area’s most significant sites.

    Livingston

The Farmer’s Table Cooking School in the small community of Livingston provides a fun, hands-on cooking experience centered around fresh, locally grown ingredients. There are lessons on everything from chicken and waffles to French cuisine. Thus, there’s a class for everyone’s tastes! After the class, spend some time walking around the charming town, where you’ll find everything from a quaint candy shop to Livingston Cellars.

    Cleveland

Cleveland has so much to offer, including “Art in the Alley.” This event is held on the first Thursday of each month in, you guessed it, an alley! While you’re in the Delta, stop by Hey Joe’s for some original, live music!

    Byram

    Byram Swinging Bridge

Following a 2015 renovation, people began placing padlocks on the swinging Byram Bridge’s railing. This tradition dates back to Serbia during WWI as a way to symbolize unbreakable love. Sweethearts throughout time have inscribed or painted their names on a lock, attached it to a bridge, and thrown away the key (into the water below). At Byram Bridge, you can do this too! Feeling romantic? Visit the bridge with your love and bring along your own lock to attach to the bridge.

These are only a FEW date night ideas. With so much to offer, Mississippi provides countless date night experiences for any couple. Although, you know the old saying…”It doesn’t matter where you go; it only matters who you’re with.”
