Gulfport Dragway is Revving with Excitement for All Ages

The need for speed….fast, loud and nostalgic is right here on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Gulfport Dragway provides seasonal outdoor entertainment weekly with speeding cars, trucks, bikes all smoking tires, racing, and revving their engines. The Gulfport Dragway offers outside stands, food & excitement for car fans of all ages. Bring the kids, bring family and friends, or even bring a date as there is plenty of open space to relax safely and take in the cool rides. You can even make a weekend of it as RV and tent camping is available at the track.

Weekly events may include King of the Hill, Ford vs Chevy weekends, and much more. One exciting upcoming event is the 10th Annual Atomic Blast, which is a wild fan favorite, held on April 23 & 24. Radical Rat Rods take over the track with plenty of tire-smoking action, and car lovers won’t want to miss out on the fun!

Check the list of track action right here: https://www.gulfportdragway.com.

Stefanie Lea, Gulfport Dragway Event Coordinator, works hard to make Atomic Blast much more than the best burnout competition event on the Gulf Coast.

“This isn’t just a Rat Rod show; it is an experience,” Stefanie Lea quotes a fan. “Friday, there will be a cruise for all into Long Beach. There is live music, a crawfish contest, fireworks, and even a festive Mini Bike parade. This year, there is a $1000 cash prize for the winning Rat Rod.”

Atomic Blast is a weekend-long party with cars traveling from as far as Canada to show off their rides and be part of the action. Dennis Landry, the host of the event, feels hands down this is one of the best Rat Rod events in the entire county, and he is inviting you to join them at the track.

“I have three rules: show off your ride, ride in someone else’s, or just come and have fun.” Dennis “Crab Man” Landry, who has hosted over 50 shows in 14 years, said.

A gasoline-consuming, tire-smoking, high-speed paradise awaits you at the Gulfport Dragway in Mississippi. A special oasis for the wildest Rat Rods, Hot Rods, and Muscle cars. Come out and show off yours to burn some rubber, or come out to check out all the cool rides. An easy drive just off of Route I-10’s Exit 31 at 17085 Racetrack Road in Gulfport, MS. Weekly events can be rescheduled due to bad weather, so please make sure to check the program schedule. An important note to remember is that NO CREDIT CARDS are accepted at the track, only old school CASH.

Wild rides and a fun time await you, so come out with friends and family to the Gulfport Dragway. A guaranteed good, old time.
