I have to say I love the Mississippi Gulf Coast, in particular, traveling along Highway 90 enjoying the beauty of the ocean and homes. There are so many opportunities for fun adventures and places to stay, so you can further enjoy the coast! If you’re making plans for a trip or vacation in the near future to the Mississippi Gulf Coast, these are my suggestions of some amazing places to stay!

    1. Front Beach Cottages

    Place: Ocean Springs, MS

    Website: https://www.frontbeachcottages.com/

According to their website, Front Beach Cottages is consistently ranked as the #1 place to stay in Ocean Springs. It consists of 4 beach cottages that were originally fishing shacks and later renovated to represent a specific place on Earth. For instance, there’s the Bellande Cottage that is inspired by Ocean Springs itself, while the NOLA and Lagniappe Cottages represent New Orleans. These cottages are only a few blocks from Front Beach and a short walk to dining and other entertainment.

    2. The Hotel Beatnik

    Place: Ocean Springs, MS

    Website: https://www.thehotelbeatnik.com/

This hotel offers four modern, floating cabins that were inspired by the Beatnik culture of the 1950s and 60s. These cabins offer a wet bar, as well as private outdoors and a plunge pool. Downtown Ocean Springs is a quick walk or bike ride away. You can find out more about this unique place by visiting this post here.

    3. Grand Centennial Hotel

    Place: Gulfport, MS

    Website: https://centennialplazams.com/stay/grand-centennial-hotel

This hotel is great for families as well as business travelers, as it offers great amenities for each. For example, if you are traveling for business, this hotel has a business center and WiFi that will keep you on track (unless, of course, you become distracted by the beautiful outdoors). This hotel is also great for families, as it includes kid suites with bunk beds, plus there is a 3-acre water playground complete with a zero-entry pool, splash pad, and water slides (and a 950-foot lazy river!). In terms of food, there are casual options, as well as more fancy options! So, there are lots of fun activities, views, and food options for you to explore here!

    4. The White House Hotel

    Place: Gulfport, MS

    Website: https://www.whitehousebiloxi.com/

This hotel began in the 1890s when Cora White, who was the wife of Gulf Coast lawyer Walter White, began accepting boarders into their home on Biloxi beach as Walter was beginning his law practice. New additions were added over time to create the current White House Hotel. Unfortunately, the hotel was vacant for 30 years but managed to survive Hurricane Katrina. The hotel underwent restoration in 2013, which was completed in 2014.

This hotel was voted the #1 hotel in Mississippi by Southern Living Magazine. The hotel boasts beautiful views, a luxurious pool, 24/7 service, beautiful rooms, a bar, and a restaurant, as well as an outdoor terrace. You are sure to enjoy this beautiful, relaxing, and luxurious place!

    5. The Guest House at Gulfport Landing

    Place: Gulfport, MS

    Website: https://theguesthousebnb.com/

This is an amazing bed and breakfast in one of the few surviving historic homes on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Each morning, you can get a delicious southern breakfast. There are also five luxurious suites complete with clawfoot tubs, remote light fireplaces, as well as luxurious linens. Thus, you can enjoy old southern charm with modern features!

Final Thoughts on Unique Places to Stay on the Mississippi Gulf Coast

I don’t know about you, but I definitely enjoy hotels that are “different” from “chain” hotels. I hope these ideas give you some inspiration for your next trip or vacation to the Mississippi Gulf Coast!
