PASCAGOULA—The view of Pascagoula has been elevated thanks to the upward investment that has been made in the Flagship District.

Whereas the street view of the coastal city is filled with sprawling sidewalks, restaurants and shops along with business offices and more, the view from above is like no other. The bird’s eye view from high atop the former Hancock Whitney Bank building provides a view of the mouth of the Pascagoula River, Ingalls Shipbuilding, NOAA docks, the Amtrak Mardi Gras Line stop, the high-rise Highway 90 bridge and the westernmost neighborhoods and business districts of Pascagoula.

Built in 1960 and operated as the Pascagoula-Moss Point Bank, the new City Centre that operated as a bank for nearly 50 years. With the remodeling and repurposing to create condominiums, it is now home to many residents and a handful of office spaces, but its most exciting feature is the bar that occupies the rooftop known as The Hancock Bar that opened in spring 2025.

The rooftop bar was developed by business partners Ramsey Taylor and Parker Pugh, and it has become a popular spot in the heart of Pascagoula.

Located at 3207 Magnolia Street, the City Centre has been the tallest commercial building in Pascagoula since it opened. It is described as a four-story glazed, International Style block with projecting concrete canopies with a five-story corner tower of white brick. It’s design with the shell roof and projecting dots on the wall created a changing shadow pattern that automatically shifted with the sun.

Today the rooftop offers signature cocktails and skyline views Monday through Saturday beginning at 4 p.m. Developers pinned The Hancock Rooftop Bar offering rooftop views and handcrafted cocktails in a stylish, modern atmosphere atop the City Centre building.

The location offers an ideal setting for after-work drinks, date nights, social gatherings, and more with both indoor and outdoor seating. The indoor bar offers seating for more than 15 people along with several bistro table seating and a conversation area.  The outdoor space includes modular, outdoor furniture and fire pits and heaters for the cooler coastal evenings.

New Year’s Eve in Pascagoula is market with the “Anchor Drop” as the clock strikes midnight.  The anchor is lowered from the City Centre for revelers gathering around the Flagship district. It is sure to be a prime location for New Year’s Eve and other holidays and celebrations to come.
