OCEAN SPRINGS—It’s here—The 47th Annual Peter Anderson Arts and Crafts Festival where guests from all across the region gather in Ocean Springs to find those one-of-a-kind treasures for themselves or to fulfill gift checklists. Others enjoy the atmosphere, the food and the music. No matter the reason, there is always something for everyone at the festival.
Downtown Ocean Springs will be closed to motor traffic Saturday and Sunday, November 8 and 9. The festival is open from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. both days. While the festival “rolls” rain or shine, the weekend forecast for Ocean Springs calls for sunny skies with high temperatures in the mid-70s and lows in the mid-60s.
Beginning in 1978 as a small arts festival to celebrate the arts community, it was renamed in 1984 to honor the late Peter Anderson, the first potter at Shearwater Pottery that opened in 1928. The 2024 festival crowd exceeded 150,000 guests with 400 booths of artists, crafters and food booths.
Organized by the Ocean Springs Chamber of Commerce and Main Street, the Peter Anderson Arts and Crafts Festival has brown to one of the southeast’s premiere festivals. The booths are intertwined with locally owned shops beneath the live oak tree canopy. Along with shopping, it is billed as a street party to include food and drink specials and local musical acts.
“We can’t wait to welcome everyone back to downtown Ocean Springs for another incredible Peter Anderson Arts and Crafts Festival,” said Cynthia Sutton, CEO and president of the Ocean Springs Chamber of Commerce. “This weekend is all about celebrating creativity, community and the small-town charm that makes Ocean Springs so special.”
“The energy it brings to downtown Ocean Springs is remarkable–not only celebrating art and culture but also creating a tremendous economic impact that supports our small businesses and strengthens our local economy.”
This year’s lineup of vendors come from all across the country with all types of handmade treasures. Organizers say the 2025 festival is shaping up to be one of the most unforgettable yet.
“The energy it brings to downtown Ocean Springs is remarkable–not only celebrating art and culture but also creating a tremendous economic impact that supports our small businesses and strengthens our local economy,” Ms. Sutton added as she took a quick break from final Friday preparations.
