Step into the enchanting world of a well-known tale of how a kind fair maiden won the heart of the prince of her dreams and lived…well, I won’t spoil the ending for you.

On Thursday, April 6 at 7 p.m., you are cordially invited to the most magical ball of all time as the World Ballet Series brings its extraordinary performance of “Cinderella” to Hattiesburg’s Saenger Theater.

This very familiar tale of the kind-hearted Cinderella who forever remained sweet and loving despite the horrible life she was met with living with her two evil stepsisters and very evil stepmother will be retold in exquisite fashion by the extremely talented World Ballet Series Production Company. In beautiful fashion, these accomplished dancers and staff will bring to life how goodness and a kind heart are always rewarded, and in this beloved tale, she won the heart of Prince Charming and became a much-loved and adored princess to last through the ages.

“This enchanting, well-loved story is brought to such vivid life by our extremely talented cast of 40 professional dancers who have come to us from a multitude of nations around the world,” Gulya Hartwick, producer for the World Ballet Series, said. “Set to the exquisitely beautiful and passionate score by Sergie Prokoflev, our talented dancers will bring this very celebrated fairy tale to life.”

A story that has been told throughout the generations with over 1,500 versions, the tale honors ballet traditions and eternal values that are treasured by all. The production is brought to life in stunning vision with over 150 hand-sewn costumes created in beautiful and delicate fashion, hand-crafted sets brought to life with rich detail, and the sparkling and impassioned choreography by Marina Kesler.

The talented Kesler brings the entire production together for an unforgettable performance. Kesler, a heralded Estonian choreographer, is well known for her skillful use of choreographic language and cinematic effects in classical ballet productions.

“This is such a great ballet for both children and adults to enjoy,” Hartwick continued. “It brings the story to life with such exquisite performances, vivid costumes and characters, and a wonderful dose of humor that will keep everyone enchanted by the performance.”

Hartwick promises that audiences will be “amazed, entertained, and inspired” plus will be treated with plenty of laughs.

“This world-class production is made for everyone, from seasoned ballet lovers to first-time ballet viewers,” Hartwick said. “This is such a fantastic combination of humor and breathtaking ballet movements which will fill your heart with joy.”

Don’t miss the magic and enchantment of this timely classical tale and ballet that professes the promise of the “happily ever after” that all princesses dream of. Don’t forget your most enchanting gown, tiara, and glass slippers, but try not to lose your slipper before the clock strikes midnight. You wouldn’t want your coach to turn into a pumpkin. This is one enchanting evening that simply should not be missed.
