Singing River Electric has 17 linemen in route to Meridian, Miss., to assist East Mississippi Electric Power Association (EMEPA) with power restoration following severe weather on March 26.
EMEPA’s service area sustained significant damage from the storm, including at least 50 broken poles. At 11 a.m., EMEPA reported 4,252 outages with the majority in Lauderdale and Newton counties.
“Helping our fellow cooperatives restore power after major storms is what we do,” said Singing River Electric General Manager and CEO Brian Hughey. “Our linemen loaded their trucks and personal items quickly so they can start the power restoration process for EMEPA members upon arrival today.”
