UPCOMING SEMINAR WILL ADDRESS OPIOID CRISIS AND OTHER WORKERS’ COMP AND EMPLOYMENT LAW ISSUES

Pascagoula’s Heidelberg Steinberger law firm will host its annual workers’ compensation and employment law seminar on May 24 at the Biloxi Yacht Club. This year’s seminar will feature Lance Robinson with Rehabilitation Inc. to address the opioid crisis in the workplace.

Attendees will also hear from firm attorneys on pertinent topics including new workers’ compensation regulations, elements of a workers’ compensation claim, ways to reduce workers’ compensation liability, bad faith, unemployment law, the importance of job descriptions, drugs in the work force and a new approach to sexual harassment in the work place.

“Our goal by hosting this seminar is to spotlight issues affecting workers’ compensation laws in our state and also educate our attendees about different federal laws that could potentially affect their business,” said Karl Steinberger who started the seminar for the firm over 25 years ago.  “We are pleased that each year we bring credible, knowledgeable speakers to address pertinent topics.”

Steinberger will present at the seminar as well as firm attorneys Tristan Armer, Stacie Zorn and April McDonald.  Four hours of continuing education credit are available for adjusters and property and casualty agents from the Mississippi Department of Insurance.

Registration is available online the firm’s website or by calling 228.762.8021.  The registration fee is $30 and covers all seminar materials and lunch.
