The City of Gautier is proud to announce that the Tour of Honor Motorcycle Ride has chosen Gautier’s Veterans Tribute Tower as one of its featured memorial sites for the 2024 ride.
Each year, the Tour of Honor selects seven memorial sites in each state, and Gautier’s Veterans Memorial at City Hall has been chosen to be showcased in 2024.
The Tour of Honor, now in its 14th year, is a self-directed motorcycle ride that pays tribute to American heroes including military veterans, first responders, and American workers. Founded in 2010 by brothers Steve and Dave Brooks, Tour of Honor was established to provide motorcyclists with a unique opportunity to celebrate their love of riding while honoring their country’s heroes.
“The mission of Tour of Honor is to honor American heroes, predominantly military veterans and first responders, by visiting sites paying tribute to them,” said Steve Brooks, co-founder of Tour of Honor. “The ride also raises funds for three charities: Fisher House Foundation, Gary Sinise Foundation’s Outreach Program for First Responders, and the Gold Star Family Foundation.”
The Tour of Honor was recently honored with the American Motorcyclist Association’s “Tour Organizer of the Year” award, further solidifying its status as a premier event in the motorcycle community.
Mayor Casey Vaughan expressed his enthusiasm for Gautier’s selection as a featured memorial site, stating, “We are thrilled to welcome Tour of Honor riders to Gautier and to showcase our Veterans Memorial. This recognition is a testament to the importance of honoring our veterans and first responders, and we are honored to be a part of such a meaningful event.”
