Mississippi’s greatest treasures are her people. They always have been, and they always will be. No matter where a person travels within the borders of our state, I can guarantee that there will be some kind, hospitable Mississippians to greet and help that traveler along the way. Seriously, kindness and hospitality are absolutely part of our Mississippi DNA.

And up here in the northern half of our state (and beyond, when the occasion arises), one of our state’s best treasures is the proprietor of Randy J. Williams Photography.

Now, just in case you are not sure if you have ever met Randy Williams, the odds are you have, but you were just not aware of who he was. Because the truth is, if you have attended any Mississippi high school or collegiate sporting events in the last few years, Randy Williams was probably there.

And if your child, your grandchild, or even your neighbor’s kid plays any type of sport across this beautiful state of ours, then you have seen Randy Williams. He is the quiet, super polite, unassuming guy on the sidelines of any and every sports field, always carrying a tripod and camera and wearing the greatest smile you have ever seen. He is truly one of the nicest guys you will ever meet.

But even beyond his great personality, what’s most amazing about Randy Williams is the uncanny ability that this Mississippi photographer has to capture those important, unique, and cherished moments of our students’ athletic pursuits. I am serious when I say that Randy Williams just seems to sense when the best picture is about to happen, and he always captures the essence of that moment, as well as who our kids really are and what they work their hearts out to achieve.

In other words, Randy Williams gets it – every single time. And he gets it on film for the whole wide world to see and share.

Honestly, when I look back over the past few years at the pictures he took of our favorite Mississippi athletes, I am always awestruck by Randy Williams’ ability to preserve the absolute heart of each game and each kid’s participation in that game. Not to mention the poignant pictures of the fans and families that he takes while they are simply watching on the sidelines of those events.

Yep, Randy Williams is truly a gifted photographer, and I am ever so grateful for his gift of seeing and capturing the moments that mattered. So, make sure to take the time to browse his website (https://www.randyjwphoto.com/) and his official Facebook page ( https://www.facebook.com/randyjwphoto).

Then, the next time you attend a local sporting event, introduce yourself to one of Mississippi’s finest photographers and thank Randy J. Williams Photography for all those precious pictures of our kids.
