    The Hub City Hosts Valentine’s Day Events for Everyone

    In the season of hearts and kisses, it’s always a great time to tell that special someone just how you feel. If you’re looking for a special way to celebrate Valentine’s Day, look no further than the Hub City. Hattiesburg will be rolling the red carpet out for everyone to enjoy this season of love.

    At the beautiful, historic Southern Oaks Venue, the Meistersingers of Hattiesburg will be hosting a Valentine’s Dinner and Entertainment Fundraiser on Friday, Feb. 14, at 7 p.m. Plan for a very unique and romantic evening will also supporting the local arts in this second annual fundraiser dinner hosted by the Meistersingers.

    The Brass Hat Midtown and Hotel Indigo Hattiesburg celebrate this lovely season by hosting a Valentine’s Day Eight-Course Dinner at the Brass Hat Midtown. On Friday, Feb. 14 and 15, new executive chef Matthew Mullins will make his premiere to the delight of valentine diners. Chef Mullins has masterfully created a very romantic touch to his evening’s menu while choosing each and every ingredient to make sure that it’s an incredible evening that you’ll never forget.

    The evening’s menu begins with a locally-inspired charcuterie board, displaying an irresistible array of cured meats and artisan cheeses. For the second course, guests will be treated to a creamy fresh carrot ginger soup that will inspire a spicy twist to your evening. Diners will be delighted with a half dozen combination of raw and grilled oysters from the Gulf Coast, and then they will be treated to a crispy arugula salad drizzled with a fresh watermelon vinaigrette, fresh basil, and crunchy pine nuts. For the fifth course, diners have a selection of a Thomahawk ribeye served with savory asparagus and roasted sweet potatoes or a broiled lobster tail with butter and seasoned with balsamic glazed vegetable medley and cheesy roasted cauliflower.

    A tip from the chef—order one of each for both to enjoy the delicious dining entrees. As a palate cleanser, guests will be served fresh coconut water to get the palette in prime condition for the delicious, decadent rich chocolate mousse, hand-whipped and rich in flavor and made from scratch with a creamy whipped topping. For the 8th and final course of the evening, diners have a selection of hand-crafted cocktails from the special After Dinner menu to bring the perfect ending to a perfect evening. There will be two dining time selections at 5:30 and 8:00. Tickets are $325.

    Enjoy a romantic night of music and dining at the Canebrake Country Club on Friday, Feb. 14. Valentine’s Date Night Dinner offers delicious dinner selections to enjoy and wine and champagne specials. Plus, you and your sweetheart will be serenaded by lovely live music. The evening dining begins at 5:30 p.m. with live entertainment from 7-10 p.m. Reservations only.

    If you’d rather skip the crowded restaurants and are looking for a unique way to celebrate, you might want to make your way to Main Street Books for A Date with Clay! On Friday, Feb. 14 from 6-8 p.m., Main Street Books invites you to bring your special valentine for a very special evening to celebrate “love in the air…and in the mud!” If you’re looking for something different this year, come and celebrate your love and creativity as you are invited to create gorgeous hand built pottery for an original date night, special night with loved ones, or a fun night out with the girls. Registration includes clay and all materials and instruction for creating a special piece of pottery. Guests are invited to BYOB for the Valentine date night to help get the creative juices flowing if you’d like. This is one very special and fun Valentine event that you do not want to miss so register now. Tickets are limited.

    The Hub City is brimming lots of special events that are sure to please everyone on this very sweet and special weekend. So bring out those that you love and enjoy a wonderful evening full of love this Valetine’s Day Weekend!
