This year’s class of 18 seniors, who suffered several heartbreaking moments through back-to-back ugly seasons of 3-8 and 1-10, have righted the ship by finishing in third place in Region 4-5A and for the first time are headed to the postseason Friday night to face Laurel.

On Aug. 5, we lost a good friend from my church and our community, Margaret Moore Hollister Wolfe. “Moore,” as many called her, was 96 years young and had a full, long life.

Sarah Bailey Thomas, one of Pascagoula’s favorite daughters, was home again the evening of July 16. Before a packed crowd of over 350 at the Hilton Garden Inn, Sarah was the keynote speaker for the 27th Annual Boys and Girls Club of Jackson County Steak and Steak Dinner.
The Pascagoula Men’s Club is again hosting the Inshore Challenge and Cobia/Snapper Shoot-Out this year as a way to raise funds for their community contributions the rest of the year. And, during the event, Calvin Parker’s alien abduction site will be given officially recognized as a historical marker.

Once again, the Pascagoula High basketball team was excellent this year. PHS has enjoyed a run of success on the hardwood.
