D’Iberville entered last weeks key three game Region 7-6A series with arch-rival St. Martin on a two game league losing streak after dropping the final two contests against Ocean Springs the week before.
The Warriors bounced back from those losses to the Greyhounds in fine fashion against the Yellow Jackets, however.
D’Iberville swept all three games from St. Martin, wrapping things up with a close 2-1 Friday afternoon at home. The trio of wins vaults the Warriors right back into a first place tie in the region race with Ocean Springs as both the Warriors and the Greyhounds sit 4-2 in league play with one week of action left.
On Friday, the Warriors took a quick lead 1-0 they would never relinquish on a sacrifice fly by Aiden Seymour that scored Landon French.
D’Iberville worked that same kind of small ball magic to perfection once again in the third frame to double its lead when a Sacrifice fly by Trey Jacquet scored Cannon Wilson. to make the count 2-0.

Warrior starting pitcher Dennis Krabbe made that advantage stand up through the first five innings, scattering three hits over the five scoreless stanzas while striking out six and walking three.
St. Martin finally cracked the scoreboard in the top of the sixth off of DHS reliever Joey Scurrah, when Parker Dobson’s sacrifice fly plated Trey Junkert to cut the deficit back to one run at 2-1.
D’Iberville turned to Carter Naron, who went on to retire the Yellow Jackets in the seventh and pick up the save while Krabbe got the win. Caleb Lawerence suffered the loss.
On Thursday night, in game two of the series, visiting D’Iberville scored five runs in the top of the second stanza to overcome a 2-1 SMHS lead and taking command of the contest and rolling on to a 7-3 win.

Colby Wilson led DHS at the plate with three hits, including two doubles, and he drove in a run in the win while both Seymour and Jacquet each had two hits and two RBIs apiece in the winning 10 hit attack. One of Symour’s hits was a double, and William Huffman also drove in a run for DHS.
Both Junkert and Gavin Nitcavic had two hits and drove in a run apiece for St. Martin, while Laken Fincher had two hits including a double and Dobson added a double as well.
Aiden Bellman picked up the win with three innings of work, while Seymour earned a save. Junkert took the loss.

Pascagoula currently sits in the third spot in the Region 7-6A race at 2-3 after salvaging game three of its series against Ocean Springs Tuesday night, while St. Martin is in the fourth and final spot at 1-4. The Panthers and Yellow Jackets still have a game to play against one another after game three of their series was postponed.
