The Pascagoula Public Library (JGRLS) has several calendar items this fall that are fun for the community, while also benefitting a good cause. Be sure to check out the following events:

    Paint & Chill

Join us for a fun and relaxing painting session at Pascagoula Public Library on Monday, September 25th at 2 pm. The library will provide all the necessary painting supplies while you bring your imagination. Tasty snacks will also be available. This event is open to 7th to 12th graders, but space is limited. Please contact 228-769-3060 to reserve your spot today!

Pascagoula Library to Host American Red Cross Sickle Cell Awareness Month Blood Drive

Join the Pascagoula Public Library and the American Red Cross in giving the vital gift of blood at the upcoming Blood Drive. The event will take place on Thursday, September 28th from 10:00 am-2:00 pm at the Pascagoula Public Library. September is National Sickle Cell Awareness Month and according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Sickle Cell Disease affects nearly 100,000 Americans. This condition is most found in Black or African American births, affecting 1 out of every 365 births, and in Hispanic American births, affecting about 1 out of every 16,300 births. In honor of this month, the Pascagoula Public Library has teamed up with the American Red Cross to host this blood drive event. Donating blood is a simple and easy way to make a difference in someone’s life. Come join your fellow community members and help those in need. Make a difference on Thursday, September 28th, from 10:00 am-2:00 pm at the Pascagoula Public Library.

    Human Kindness Drive

The Friends of Pascagoula Public Library and the Mississippi State Extension Office are hosting a Human Kindness Drive from September 18 to October 31. The aim of the drive is to encourage people to show kindness by donating to those in need. The Salvation Army and Gulf Coast Center for Nonviolence need canned foods and non-perishable items, laundry detergent, hygiene products, clothing, and household goods. You can contribute by giving directly to the staff at the circulation desk or by depositing your donations in the designated box. Thank you for your kindness and generosity.
